Would it be possible to show how many people using the filter searcher clicked on a fanfics link?

So to make a kinda rating system?

That would be somewhat ineffective, considering many would not click on the link; they'd copy it and download the story with one of any number of fic downloading apps. Thus, avoiding going onto FFN altogether.

...possibly as a protest against FFN's moronic choices, regarding how the stories on their site are organized, their pathetic system for locating fics (though, sadly, both are better than those on most other fanfic sites), and their lackadaisical and biased moderation.

However, such an action, performed by enough people, would deprive them of advertising while still using their bandwidth so, while I may be displeased with many aspects of FFN, I am not about to bite my own nose off to spite my face by killing the source of a large portion of my reading material.

Anyway, my point is that, while it may be possible to implement such a feature, it would be inherently inaccurate.

    Try this search.

On a side note: Saveable/shareable searches are now available.

I've been talking with Raven, and I think what we'll end up doing is automating the process of tying a story together with it's DLP rating and review thread. With, of course, the ability to search over that information.

    Edit:
I pushed in some more query optimizations. Based off some initial testing, it seems like queries take about 25% of the time they used to. In a somewhat surprising twist, making your search more specific tends to make it faster. I'm now decently satisfied with the speed, to the point of being willing to slow it down again by adding text searching.

This is awesome :awesome. I've already found 2 new stories that I've somewhat enjoyed reading, though nothing worth putting up for review (yet). Thanks for sharing this!

It took me too long to figure out that "Accepted" meant it would exclude the ones I didn't list though. Silly me.

This is one of the most useful websites I've ever seen. Great job.

Also, how does one retrieve a saved search?

Alrighty folks. You asked for it, so here it is. Keyword searching. Try this on for size.

    Other new features/updates:

    • Added initial support for introducing more fandoms
    • Keyword searching is now available (Use "!" or "-" to exclude a keyword)
    • Faster searches. I really doubt it's ever going to get any faster.
    • Added a Search Help page to help explain the search options
    • Added the ability to search and sort by average chapter length
    • Added the ability to sort by average update speed
    • Meta: Updated the updated list
As always, please post back here with any problems you encounter or suggestions you might have. With keywords now being a mostly solved problem, please start adding requests for fandoms you'd like to be able to search in this thread.

After clicking on the "Save Search" button, the address of the new page can be used to access that search in the future.

Site seems broken with Opera. Guess it couldn't handle my browser's awesomeness.

Opera strictly adheres to the official standards. So yeah, it will point out if your code is shit :p

That said, it works fine for me, Arbiter. Opera 11.01. Where exactly do you have problems?

It would be funnier if you two were able to think for yourselves, instead of copying my comments. :nyan:

It's not a big deal, really. I'll just use IE when I want to use that website.

I am using AdBlocker. Perhaps that's what's causing the problem.
EDIT: Yep, seems that was it. Thanks for the suggestion.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! It adheres to official standards about as well as IE does.

Here you go, thinking for myself:

I'd say click it to enlarge, but I doubt Opera will open it in a new tab without some ridiculous key combination.

In any case, I'm sure there are more threads than Opera uses in MB of RAM on Browser Wars. We should stop cluttering up this one.

Sweet -- it's been updated with more fandoms :D

(Just letting everyone know who didn't see it elsewhere first)

    Good choices on the fandoms.

There seem to be some technical difficulties with changing the poll on this thread, so go to https://forums.darklordpotter.net/showthread.php?t=20340 and vote there for the next feature you'd like to see on the site.

    *sigh*

Way to take the wind out of a guy's sails, yaknow?

How about this: Now it's been updated with the *entire* range of stories for the following fandoms. Enjoy.

    • Naruto
    • Star Wars
    • Bleach
    • Firefly
    • Stargate: SG-1
    • Stargate: Atlantis

I'm very confused. It should look like http://i836.photobucket.com/albums/zz288/Arbiter1989/AwesomeBrowser.png because Opera doesn't support a lot of the new box layout options in CSS3 yet. How the hell did you fix it by tweaking your adblocker settings?
