It is ... Azkaban

Obviously a cliche-riddled topic, but one that hasn't received much attention recently. We're looking forward to see what DLP can make of this.

As always, feedback and judge applications go in this thread.

I'd like to judge this one. I've got copious amounts of time I can use for reading and considering each piece of work.

Hm. Can entries be humor/crack fics, within this category, or are we looking at more 'serious' attempts at attacking the cliche?

 

I think anything goes, though the judges may be expecting sirius ones. But, they usually judge based on how the topic is tackled., which I would assume having the main-plot of the story be centered in the prison.

As a note, the admins/mods may want to clarify exactly how Azkaban is judged on, considering it is a bit different than say Dark Arts.

That said, I'll be contributing this month. I said I would last month, but RL tends to get in the way a lot. I'm about to start cracking today actually. Good luck to the rest of the participants.

 

Well, judging is based on the quality of the story ... if the judges deem your crackfic to be better than the serious one, it's going to win. The politics one showed that some judges removed points for not actually being about politics - you could obviously submit a story that isn't actually about Azkaban, and you'd get fewer points for that, but what would be the point of that?

tl;dr: Quality matters.

 

Okay, here's another question: when it comes to 'Azkaban' fics, are we only considering Azkaban!Harry fics, or can we consider other characters?

Normally, I'd agree. But considering events that transpired last Friday night for me that left me dishevelled and wandering the streets of downtown Montreal alone at 2:30am, I figured a bit of prudence was wise.
