It used to be a standard DLP initiation rite to make the newbies read The Office, don't tell me you can't handle your shit.

Oh I've read it. But damn... that is one sick story. Unique yes, but still twisted beyond all belief.

If you want to comment, it has a library thread too.

Also, ignoring the OP: Amortentia (Library) is certainly unique and gets the award for the most vain, self-absorbed and blatantly fame-digging female protagonist ever. Most people hate it. I love the fuck out of it. Romilda's character is a piece of art.

Well. I think I'm going to have to figure out somewhere I can use that line in the WTF entry this month. And wrinkle-fucking? I thought I'd read it all, but thats a new one.

Okay, sick or not, that's brilliant. Totally disappointed he didn't bang

seeing as the corpse was right there for the taking.

And not even after she returns? Shame.

Ah well. Not the worst thing I've read/seen on the internet, but I'd give it a 3.5 for all the poor grammar and spelling errors from the start onward.

I have never read The Office, nor do I plan to.

I'm quite happy with this decision of mine.

Not unique, or even remotely clever. Reload did it better, and first, and Time Braid improved upon the idea.

    The Skitterleap.

edit: And post 100.... only took me three years. At least it was recommending something worthwhile; even if it was in a thread started by a retard.

Bungle in the Jungle is very unique in my opinion. Probably the best 2nd-person POV fic you've ever found in the market.

Geminio, especially the Mad-Eye's POV. Confusing, dark, and badass all at once.

Circular Reasoning. Just want to emphasis that you should read this, definitely.

EDIT: just read The Office. Two-words review: "Oh boy"

Falling through puddles and magic gone haywire are just a few of Harry's newest problems. With the Ministry falling apart and Voldemort unearthing ancient secrets, will Harry uncover the truth in time? Post-OotP.

An object in the Dept of Mysteries sends Harry 800 years into the past... an adventure of Crusaders, Assassins, Warlocks and Conspiracy, because there's more to saving the world than killing a Dark Lord. HPxAC TimeTravel. Violent.

Comment: Only good "Harry in medieval times" fic. 50k words in and the AC crossover has yet to materialise. I wouldn't let the AC part put you off - I've never played AC; the fic is still amazing.

An ongoing series of one shot stories exploring how Slytherin!Harry would have handled key moments from the books. Events will appear out of order, so don't be surprised if it jumps around.

    Comment: Unique format, clever writing.

Comment: How many fics can you name that include the sentence "Dobby relished his groinsaw's roar as he withdrew the flesh-choked blade from the astronaut's ruined skull"?

    Amortentia is also awesome.

    Again, Amortentia.

Backwards With Purpose is unique (maybe?), in that it's a well done time-travel, and not everything goes to plan. Although there is still a hint of paedo!ron. I have never read the sequel, but I've been told it's even better.

Gryffindors Never Die is interesting - alcoholic!harry and ron come back in time, and stuff happens.

While You Were Sleeping, I couldn't make my mind up on. Basically,
Harry wakes up, after having been in a coma, and Ginny is married to Malfoy. Also, she has his daughter.
Some of it is quite nicely done, but some of it is terribad. People don't cut Harry any slack - "Damnit Harry, be nice to the man who married the woman you were going to propose to, and stop being a big baby. Everyone else moved on, why can't you?". But at the same time, it IS interesting. And the only other coma!Harry I ever read was Happily Ever After, which didn't feel like it had properly ended.

Time To Spare is a Harry that sends himself back through time, and becomes a thorough bastard. All for the Greater Good.

The Little Veela That Could. ghost!Harry/angel!Gabi/Hermione. Although not quite yet.

    Dashed Hopes, and Good Intentions.

The component parts might not be unique (angst, arguably a touch of horror, grieving, and a slice of incest), but certainly I've never read anything like it.

True, I wouldn't want to read it again, but y'know.

    Sluagh, by Thanfiction.

It's the sequel to Dumbledore's Army and the Year of Darkness, and that one is not unique by the definition of this thread (it's canon compliant and takes place during canon, after all). It's a necessary prerequisite for Slaugh, though. Like DAYD, Sluagh is Neville-centric, so that may be a turn-off for most.

But Sluagh goes way, way the fuck off into the wild blue yonder - a bizarre ride through the author's version of working class Belfast, and from there into what-the-heck-is-going-on Celtic mythology. It's definitely not a perfect story (DAYD is better, IMO), but unique? Yep.

Spoiler tags, motherfucker! But yeah, I'm reading that one now. I think I had it confused with one on SIYE or PS with a similar name, and if it turns out to be the same shit story, I'mma be pissed.

I'm on chapter 5 now, and yes, the writing is pretty damn good, though an argument could be made that it's a little bland at times.

I thought Parting the Continents was superbly done, though as I've said before, I feel like I need a shower every time I remember it...

Tinn needs to finish Song of the Trees - that story is a serious mind-fuck.

Andro needs to get his ass back on Dark Days, and fast. Great atmosphere and tension he's able to bring out there.

And I second Across the Universe. A really well done story that somehow was the perfect length, though I'd be more than happy to read a sequel, etc. That said, what I really, really, REALLY want from that author is MOAR On the Way to Greatness. I might be that story's biggest fanboy.

Another one from my "I really should get around to reading that..." list.

Hell yes. Far less AU but a far better story is nmb's By the Divining Light, it's sequel, and the upcoming (please please please) sequel to that.

Make those milestone posts count for something, amirite?

Started this one; it looks promising.

Comment: Never read anything else like it.

This arc of stories by Horst Pollman. Never read anything like it (story was written @ 2003).

It's somewhat hard to get into.. if you find the 5th year story off (I know I did), try the 6th year one first. Starts with Harry staying for a month in Japan, receiving martial arts/magic lessons during the day and sex lessons (by a japanese servant girl) during the night. Way better than it sounds too.

I figure the dude or dudette that wrote this travelled (and stayed in) a whole lot of places around the world. There are entire sections of the story that take place in other countries with a surprising amount of detail. Examples include Japan, France, the U.S, Israel, Ireland and Jamaica.

Finally, H/Cho. And she's kind of a huge bitch in the later books. But her bitchiness is directly balanced with Harry's awesome comebacks.
