Both vesvius and Vira missed the fact that he might be enchantress. Very unlikely, but still possible. It's not that risky for witches to kill the enchantress with two lovers alive to clear Matt. Anyway, I don't think I'm going to side any of the theories proposed, because I want to see more people post.

EDIT: IGNORE THAT I DERPED AND FORGOT ENCHANTRESS IS KILLED BY NIGHTKILL.

Yep. Looks like it's just the five, because a night kill could kill an enchantress.

Angel, Survivalist, Warlock, BoD, Traveller

Might as well try and eliminate some theories. To start off with, I doubt dhulli was the BoD. If he was, he probably would have said so before he died so that we would know to lynch him, and not be confused by it. Also, even if he didn't want to say it (to avoid a soulsteal), he wouldn't have worked as hard to deflect the vote onto either Lutris or Knee.

I'm also going to guess it wasn't the angel protection, simply for numbers. We would have a 1 in 22 chance (I think) of the Angel getting the right person. Unlikely, considering the angel is dhulli (P.S: dhulli, if you read this, know that your funny pic posts have given me much joy).

Those are the two I'm going to eliminate in my mind. So, taking a page from Kai's book, I'll ask what you guys think.

Out of the five choices, what do you think the most likely one was?

 

Vesvius, I did say I'm not stating which theory I favour yet, but there's another side to the angel possibility. Dhulli might have been acolyte and Matt the priest... But that's also highly unlikely.

 

I'll note that that protecting me would be a strange choice for dhulli to make considering I voted to lynch the idiot.

 

After reviewing Matt's posts, he seems to have favored a wait and see mentality in regards to the mayoral election. He also jumped on late to the dhulli lynching, so I seriously doubt dhulli would have gone out of his way to protect him.

I agree that it's a little odd that neither vera nor vesvius thought of the enchantress. It would be brilliant for the witches to try and off one of their own, knowing that they couldn't be killed.

On your point of angel protection, I quite agree.

However the Benevolent Old Dame is a role in which the usage of it is exceedingly difficult. It would seem theoretically possible for dhulli to hold the role and still die.

Assuming dhulli was the Benevolent Old Dame, he could have, on purpose, not mentioned it, for the only purpose of the Witches leaving him alive and the Warlock knowing of a kill which he could use to escape a death.

I think it more likely that MattSilver just was a (unfortunately, for the witches) role which would survive a Night Kill. Based on numbers (which was your argument for Angel Protect), I would think it more likely MattSilver was a targeted Town player.

Otherwise, dhulli as the Benevolent Old Dame would ring true. Of course, if MattSilver is the Rogue Warlock, then the Witches somehow managed to hit on the one non-Town player which could survive a Night Kill.

Question is, does the Witches hitting the Warlock make sense?

Of course, there is the possibility that several of the situations may happen at once, an example being the Survivalist getting targeted, but dhulli was the Benevolent Old Dame, so Protection occurred anyway.

I admit such a scenario is very, very, highly unlikely, though.

 

I think you're forgetting that the chances of MattSilver being the Warlock are exactly the same of him being the Traveler or Survivalist... Assuming dhulli wasn't BoD, there's a 1 in 3 chance that he's the warlock...

True. The other two are Town roles, though. That is a 2/3 chance. I must admit the assumption is, after all, shaky, but possibly the best at the moment when we do not know the truth...

 

Alright, unless either of the town roles reveal, we're stuck with the 1/3 chance each. However, Matt himself has yet to say anything concrete about his death, so I'm interested to hear his opinions on this entire death.

Also, it's almost 7 hours in, and if we get too fixated on his death it would be unwise. Since most of us should have their own opinions on Matt's role by now, perhaps we should move on as you guys see fit.

 

My opinion is that I'm very much alive, thank you very much. Broken arm, remember? And, as to why I was targeted, there are four options: One, it's because I pissed somebody off. Two, it's because it was meant to look like somebody I pissed off tried to kill me, a frame job. Three, random, name drawn out of a fluffy hat. Four, perhaps the old SW reasoning that, since I was passive and stuff and only came in to kill dhulli later, I must've been a priest suspect to their eyes. If it's the latter-erest, blame Vira, who pulled this trick on me before (/only mostly joking).

I support moving on, but I'm still rereading and formulating theories to have any ideas now (That is, on the chance it's not option three).
