    [Signups] Due to the complexity of the game, prospective players without any prior Mafia game experience on the DLP forums will be ineligible for application. Furthermore, players with at least two Mafia games under their belts will be given priority over those with less experience. Signups will be held open until all 25 slots are filled, plus 5 reserves. If you are interested, please state your intention in this thread, and then cite your previous DLP Mafia game experience (e.g. I (Lutris) want to participate. I have participated in 5 games.). If you are interested in observing, state your intention in the thread and I will PM you a link to the Observers' QuickTopic.

    -The following players will automatically have a spot in HoT should they wish it, for contributing to its creation: Ashaya, Vira, Irene, KaiDASH, MattSilver, Merrill, Vesvius, Fiat, and Zeitgeist.


    [Ettiquette]
    Please observe polite and pleasant gameplay.

    • Do not lie about real-life commitments. If you are unable to play for a prolonged period of time or do not wish to continue playing, inform the game host.
    • Similarly, if someone says that they will not be available due to real-life constraints accept .
    • For the avoidance of doubt, this is not a role-playing game. Don't overdo it.
    • Keep non-game-related topics to a minimum in the thread.
    • If you are unable to be active, you will be replaced. Inform the game host if you are.
    • Be nice! We're all playing to have fun. Disparage someone's skill if you must, but please avoid personal insults!

    [Day/Night Phases & Lynch Voting]
    The default Day Phase length is 48 hours, but can be extended if required. The default Night Phase is 24 hours long.


    • a Deadline vote, where your lynch vote will be counted at the end of the day.
    • a Standard vote, where your lynch vote is counted immediately.

    To cast a Deadline vote, say: Deadline Vote: Player
    To cast a Standard vote, say: Standard Vote: Player

    You can rescind or change a Deadline vote at any time before the end of the Day Phase. You can do the same for a Standard vote at any time before a Majority Lynch is reached. Note that votes that are not cast in the correct syntax will be ignored.


    [Dead Players] Dead players are reborn as Children of the Forest, who have access to ancient magic long lost to the world. The Children collude each Night in their QuickTopic and decide on a player to award Protection to (immunity from Night Kills) by plurality vote. Player roles are NOT revealed upon Death. Dead scum must attempt to influence the other dead players' votes to their faction's advantage.


    [Protection] Protection can be granted by The Children of the Forest, and a few select Roles. Protection allows for immunity from a Night Kill, but not from Role Kills such as a Kingslayer Kill, a Sacrifice Kill, or a Warden Kill.


    [Lieges]
    In the event of a 1vs1 tie, a Liege role's vote will take precedence of a non-Liege player.

    -Liege vs. Liege priority is as follows: KING IN THE NORTH > MOTHER OF DRAGONS = BLOODRIDER > BOY KING = HAND = WARDEN > KING IN THE NARROW SEA



    [Population] The Population of a faction denotes its voting power. A major aim of the Mafia/Warlock factions is to manipulate the game state so that their members comprise the majority of the total population. Population at the start of the game is as follows:

    King's Landing:16 | Winterfell:4 | Dragonstone:4 | Across the Narrow Sea:2


    [Winterfell/Dragonstone]
    The factions Winterfell and Dragonstone are the equivalent of Mafia 1 and Mafia 2 in games of Mafia with more than one mafia faction. Both achieve victory when they are the majority faction in the game, but each faction has a additional and unique secondary victory method. Winterfell has the unique ability Direwolf, and can win when a member of their faction survives to the end of the game. Dragonstone can Convert players, and can win when they have Converted every remaining player in the game.


    [Across the Narrow Sea] The Mother of Dragons and her Bloodrider are the equivalent of the Warlock and Thrall from Warlock Hunt. They can increase their Population, and win when they are the majority faction in the game. They are able to Sacrifice players.


    [Activity Requirement]

    • If you are unable to be active, you will be replaced. Let the game host know in advance if you have some reason to be inactive (so allowances can be made).
    Activity is defined as the following:
    - At least 2 posts in the game thread per 24 hours spent in the day phase. A post that is primarily a Vote does not count.​

    KING'S LANDING
    Population: 16

    You are the Town in standard Mafia games. Players belonging to this faction do not know who has what role, and do not share a QuickTopic (exceptions apply). Victory is achieved when every single enemy player is dead.




    THE BOY KING [Liege]

    Abilities
    -When 36 hours of Day have passed, and if less than 1/3 of the living players have voted, or at least 1/2 of players have placed a No Lynch vote, you may decide the Lynch target for that Day. This can kill The Young Queen and The Mother of Dragons.


    THE YOUNG QUEEN

    Abilities
    -As long as The Boy King lives, you are immune to Lynches, unless they determined the Lynch.


    THE HAND OF THE KING/THE IMP
    [Liege]

    Abilities
    -Check: The Hand may name one player each Night phase, and learn if they are INNOCENT or GUILTY. A player will show up as GUILTY if they are not a King's Landing player.


    THE WARDEN OF THE WEST [Liege]

    Abilities
    -When you die, you may kill a player of your choice the following Night. This can kill Protected roles such as The Mother of Dragons or those protected by the Children of the Forest or The Maiden.


    THE IMP'S WIFE

    Abilities
    -You know the identity of the Hand of the King. If you are Checked by The Hand, you grant them an additional Check for the following Night. They will not be informed of this extra Check until the next Night Phase.
    -You cannot be Converted.


    THE KINGSLAYER


    Abilities
    -While The Queen lives, you can kill a player of your choice when there have been two consecutive mislynches on two consecutive days. The counter resets each time a Kill is possible, regardless of whether you decide to Kill a player or not. This can kill the Mother of Dragons.
    -If The Queen dies, you can only kill when there have been three consecutive mislynches on three consecutive Days. You will not lose the ability to kill the Mother of Dragons.
    -Shares a QuickTopic with The Queen


    THE QUEEN


    Abilities
    -As long as The Kingslayer is alive, you can name a player and an innocent role once every odd-numbered Night and learn if they match. You cannot choose the same player twice in a row.
    -If The Kingslayer dies, you can only name a role match every 3 Nights.
    -Shares a QuickTopic with The Kingslayer.


    THE LITTLE LORD OF THE FINGER


    Abilities
    -Infosteal: At Night, choose exactly two players. When the Day phase arrives, you will learn what those two players learned during the Night, but not who learned it. You must choose two unique players, and each player can only be targeted once per game. You may Infosteal three times during the game.
    -Gift: At any time during the game, you may ask the host to send the information you have learned through your Infosteals to any player, directly to their QuickTopic. They will learn your role, and you will die.


    THE WHORE


    Abilities
    -Each Night Phase that you are alive, you may inform the players of the game where whores go. (e.g. Whores go to Disneyland!)


    THE KINGSGUARD

    Abilities

    -You learn who Winterfell and Dragonstone target to kill before each Night Phase ends.
    -You may save any player Winterfell or Dragonstone attempts to kill by dying in their place.
    -If you die to save a target of the Convert Kill, its special ability steal will only apply if you were also Converted beforehand.


    THE MAIDEN


    Abilities
    -If you are Lynched, every player has Protection the following Night (cannot die from Night Kills). If you are killed during the Night, this ability does not come into effect.


    THE HOUND


    Abilities
    -As long as a Lynch has not been decided, you can die to determine the Lynch target. This can kill the Mother of Dragons unless they are protected through a successful Sacrifice Kill. You are immune to Role Kills (Sacrifice, Kingslayer Kill, etc.) if The Maiden is dead. You are not informed of your immunity.


    THE MOUNTAIN THAT RIDES


    Abilities
    -You cannot die during the Night Phase (except to the Warden's Death Kill, the Convert Kill, or the Sacrifice Kill). This effect stops when a total of only two members of factions Winterfell and Dragonstone remain.


    THE SELLSWORD


    Abilities
    -You survive your first death, unless it is caused by a Sacrifice Kill.


    MAESTER OF THE CITADEL

    Abilities
    -You are informed of the Roles of any players that die during the Day.


    THE SPIDER


    Abilities
    -After two consecutive mislynches on two consecutive days, you may Check a player.



    WINTERFELL
    Population: 3+Direwolf | Max = 4

    You are analogous to a Mafia faction in a standard Mafia game, and share a QuickTopic. Winterfell players collude each Night to decide a Night Kill victim by plurality vote. If deadlocked, cointoss. Victory is achieved when you gain player majority, or if one of your players survives to the end of the game (2 players remain 1vs1).

    Unique Ability: Direwolf
    Players of faction Winterfell decide a target for the Direwolf, a non-player token, to kill by majority vote every even-numbered Night in addition to their normal Night Kill. If no consensus can be reached, The King in the North’s vote decides the target. This Kill functions as an extra Night Kill, and does not pierce Protection. The first time Winterfell player is targeted for death (whether Lynch, NK, or Role Kill), the Direwolf will die in their place. The Direwolf counts towards Winterfell's population.


    THE KING IN THE NORTH [Liege]

    Abilities
    -Every Day Phase, you are informed of the results of the previous Night's Hand Check.
    -If the Hand does not enact a Check, you may decide whom to Check. Use this to single out Dragonstone players and the Mother of Dragons.
    -Share a QuickTopic with other Winterfell players.
    -You cannot be Converted.


    THE LADY OF WINTERFELL


    Abilities
    -Protection (immune to Night Kills)
    -Share a QuickTopic with other Winterfell players.

    The Direwolf will die in your place even if you are targeted for a NK. You will still keep your NK immunity.



    THE KRAKEN PRINCE


    Abilities
    -Every even-numbered Night, you learn how many players are Converted.
    -Share a QuickTopic with other Winterfell players.



    DRAGONSTONE
    Population: 4

    You are analogous to a Mafia faction in a standard Mafia game, and share a QuickTopic. Victory is achieved when you gain player majority, or when all remaining players have been converted to the faith of R’hllor, the Red God. You may collude each Night Phase and decide by plurality vote a target to Night Kill.

    Unique Ability: Convert
    As long as either The King in the Narrow Sea or The Red Priestess still live, Dragonstone players may collude each Night in their QuickTopic to choose a target to Convert. A Converted player will not be informed that they have been Converted, and does not count towards Dragonstone’s population. You may target two players on Night 1, and only one player to Convert every Night that follows. The Across the Narrow Sea players are immune to Conversion, as are The King in the North, and The Imp's Wife.


    THE KING IN THE NARROW SEA [Liege]

    Abilities
    -Azor Ahai Reborn: at any time during the Day, you may publicly declare your role in the thread to commandeer the votes of as many Converted players as you choose, and Night Kills by Dragonstone pierce Protection that Night. All of these players must vote the same way as you. They will lose their Converted status once you enact Azor Ahai Reborn.
    -Share a QuickTopic with other Dragonstone players.


    THE RED PRIESTESS


    Abilities
    -You learn the Roles of players who die during the Night.
    -Once each game, you may kill a Converted player. You are given that player's Abilities in addition to your own for the next Day/Night cycle. If they had a private QT, you will not gain access to it.
    -Share a QuickTopic with other Dragonstone players.


    THE ONION KNIGHT

    Abilities
    -Each Night, you are told the remaining Population of King's Landing.
    -Share a QuickTopic with other Dragonstone players.


    The Bastard Cousin


    Abilities
    -You may choose to die during the Day. Your role is revealed when Night arrives. In return, Dragonstone gains an additional Night Kill that Night.
    -Share a QuickTopic with other Dragonstone players.



    ACROSS THE NARROW SEA
    Population: 2+Dragons | Max = 5

    You are the Warlock/Lich faction in Tinyhunt games, and share a QuickTopic. Victory is achieved when you gain population majority. You cannot be Converted.


    MOTHER OF DRAGONS [Liege]

    Abilities
    -Sacrifice: You may publicly Match a player to a role in the thread during the Day. If they are correctly matched, the player will die. For each successful Sacrifice, you are awarded one Dragon token, and gain immunity from all forms of Death until the next Day Phase. You will be informed if your target was a Converted player or not.
    -Dragons: Each Dragon token that is awarded to you adds an additional, permanent vote to you, to be used at your discretion. Each Dragon counts toward your population.
    -Bloodrider: As long as the Bloodrider lives, you have Protection and cannot be Lynched.
    -Share a QuickTopic with the Bloodrider
    -You cannot be Converted.


    BLOODRIDER
    [Liege]

    Abilities
    --When a Winterfell or Dragonstone player dies, you are notified of their death, but not their role or faction.
    -When you die, the Mother of Dragons is informed which Winterfell and Dragonstone roles are dead.
    -As long as you live, the Mother of Dragons has Protection and cannot be Lynched.
    -Share a QuickTopic with the Mother of Dragons.
    -You cannot be Converted.

    I am Aemon of the Night's Watch. I have served the realm with my sworn Brothers, protecting the Seven Kingdoms from what lies Beyond the Wall through conflict and strife, through plague and famine, and through the deaths of Kings- tyrants, madmen, usurpers, and heroes.

    I write this now, a journal of my thoughts as war breaks out in this realm we Brothers of the Night's Watch so seek to defend. I am fearful of what this War of Five Kings may bring. With the death of King Robert Baratheon the First of his Name, his heirs, self-declared kings themselves, now meet in the field of battle.

    His son by Queen Cersei, King Joffrey I, now sits on the Iron Throne. His elder brother, King Stannis Baratheon of Dragonstone contests this claim, declaring that Joffrey is a bastard born of incest between the Queen and her brother, the Kingslayer.

    The young son of Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell has risen in the North, seceding his lands from the rule of the Baratheons and claiming kingship as the first King in the North in three hundred years. Ravens from White Harbour inform me that a great wolf stands by King Robb's side, the very symbol of the Starks' austere might.

    And still, there are rumours… rumours that are as faint and unsure as a whisper. There are many versions of this tale, but all tell of the same event: that across the Narrow Sea in some far away land, a great Dragon has awoken amidst a sea of black grass.

    Only time will tell the outcome of this futile, pointless War. Will it be the Boy King atop his Iron Throne and his legion of golden lions? Or perhaps the Red King of Dragonstone will claim his brother's legacy and rule the Seven Kingdoms? Shall the King in the North, Lord of Winterfell, defend his lands and find prosperity in the barren North?

    Perhaps still, I shall see the rise of my great House once more, in the return of dragons.

    Whatever the outcome, there is only one truth for an old man atop the Wall. In the end, the Starks are always right.

    I will point out that those who do not meet the minimum posting requirement WILL be replaced.

    Out of 26 we have 10 scum.

    Out of those 26 we have 4 that either cannot be lynched or survive the first time/have a protection.

    We have pretty good odds on hitting scum blind but I think Lungs idea of Q&A will help.

    I dunno if these question are to everyone, but i'll answer anyway. I'd probably use the power when a strong player gets NK'd, making him confirmed as town and can be believed in what he says.

    Wait, actually.. with the multiple factions he could very well me Mafia. So in that case, if I personally thought he was town and got NK'd i would save him.

    @Lutris, say that one of the mafia who have one shot immunity no NK's get targeted at night, and the kingsgaurd saves him, does he still lose the immunity or not?

    Well if there was hard proof, I'd do it depending on what their role was. If their role was needed for the town to survive and win, I would save them, obviously.

    However, there aren't many certainty's in mafia. So feelings are usually what you have to go on.
