I'll say that people throwing out accusations at this point are probably pro-town. It is kind of a risky move on their part and no scum would likely do it unless they are sure of getting some sort of bandwagon going. But regardless, I think the best way to figure out the scum is...to figure out the townies! The latter is far easier at this point as it is easier to look at someone's post as think, "Yeah this person seems to be acting individually." than to actually think someone is scum. Assuming there's at least 1 "power player" on each of the scum factions, it's more than likely that those power players will have some measure of control (if not in content, then a general direction) over their factions' posts and probably won't allow something stupid like Custer's post about the power players.

But then again, the above is littered with "probably"s so it's all speculation at this point.

I think everyone throwing out accusations are pro-town, and everyone throwing out accusations are scum. I think everyone who is being defensive about accusations are pro-town, and I think everyone who is being defensive about accusations are scum. I think those commenting on the fact that everyone is throwing out accusations are pro-town, and I think those commenting on the fact that everyone is throwing out accusations are scum. I think that those using metagame logic are pro-town, and I think that those using metagame logic are scum. I think those that are suspicious are pro-town, and I think those that are suspicious are scum.

I also think that we have no fricking clue either way.

But at what point do we get enough of a "fricking clue" to lynch? Obviously we'll get more information as the days progress but since statistically the town has a greater chance of benefit from a lynch on day 1, I'll say that we should lynch. People have posted stuff and you can make various forms of argument about the people who posted and based on how you think the townies/scum would act/react. These arguments don't give you a "fricking clue", but they do give you slight indications one way or another.

It's not going to be a black and white lynch but you can still group people and make assumptions and come up with a gray vs slightly different gray lynch and I think that'll have to do.

Edit: @Lungs: I have no idea what Irene did...?

Well, it's been over 24 hours with less then 24 remaining in the day. We'll never get moving unless someone starts to vote. And since I happen to be the one typing this post, I nominate me.

Moving down the list, I pick....

    Deadline Vote: Jwlk

Reasoning? Since we're talking metagaming, I was the host of SW2 and saw some of your moves in there. If you're town, even a power role, I feel you're a liability. If you're scum, so much the better.

Damn it. Metagaming troubles me a lot more now that we're not just talking about it. D8

Well I could always choose for my fricking clue to be to vote for the town retard and hope he doesn't have a role that screws the rest of us over when he dies...

Yeah, I'm not too comfortable with the idea of an RNG lynch, simply because, as someone (KaiDASH?) pointed out that it would be too easy for the scum to pick a guy 'at random'. Of course any lynch on the first day is going to have an element of randomness, but I think we should also look for those who are trying to steer the vote certain ways, who are speaking in cliques.

Ofc, since this is a relatively newbie-free game, such tells will be harder to spot, but they should still be there.

I want this first day to be over so that we can have some sort of clue in who is killed tonight, and move on past this boring conversation about how hard it is to be suspicious of someone for doing nothing.

Pretty much, I will likely bandwagon today for the sake of moving the fuck on, but I also don't think it's a huge deal if we DON'T lynch someone. It's Day 1, we have plenty of time.

I am strangely suspicious of Custer, though. Dunno why....maybe it was just being scum with him in SW2, but it made me distrust him.

Sorry for a stupid question, but wasn't it generally agreed that first day lynches are necessary? What makes this game different? True, we don't get a role reveal or anything, but how exactly will anything on the second day make it a better day for lynching?

Tomorrow will be different from today in a few ways - one person is killed, and... wait, that's it. One person is killed. So it's basically the same as an extended day 1 where a person was killed in between. People saying more things isn't really applicable because they could say enough right now. It's not like we can automatically gain clues from who was killed either - normally, it would be a safe bet that whoever was killed was innocent, and we could look at who supported and/or opposed them and make deductions based on that, but even that isn't a certainty here as there are 3 scum factions.

We would get a ton of clues if the NK target survived, ofc, but what are the odds of that? Are we really going to not lynch on the off chance that we get some valuable info?

Whoops. Two people are killed. Doesn't change my point all that much, though, strengthens it, in fact, seeing as the scum are likelier by probability to target a townie - so we might lose two townies at night, while we haven't done squat to ferret out the mafia.

Alright. I'm going to sleep now. If I wake up before the end of the day (not sure when that is), I'll probably jump on the bandwagon for whoever we decide to murderize.

    Cheers!

I think we should lynch Vesvius. Sorry, Ves, but that comment of not knowing how to play pro-town simply reeks of scummy-ness. I think it'd be a fair first lynch.

Trying to lynch a sleeping man is quite scummy Vira. Just saying.

I'm not sure why people think randomly focusing on one person for *reasons* and lynching them no matter what is better than picking 2-3 people known for lurking and then getting the judge (boy king? i can't recall) to pick the most scummy one to kill.

Like, there is only positive effects from doing that.

    1. Making lurkers say something
    2. Removing the lurker who says the least useful things
    3. (this is important) They actually have a reasonable chance to not get lynched if they are really protown (compared with 'pick 1 person and lynch them always' which would just about take a roleclaim to get out of).
    4. A judge lynch can kill certain (scum) roles that a normal lynch can't.

The only disadvantage is that maybe the boy king is a twat and doesn't do this totally reasonable thing we're asking of him and kills someone else instead. In which case we know not to rely on him in future, and it's best to get this out of the way now imo.

Vote: No lynch (uh lutris, I assume you're doing the same thing as me where 50% no lynch vote makes day end and the judge can make a lynch then?)

    edit by double post:

I want others to put names forward before I do, since otherwise I think this would be misconstructed with trying to run town or whatever. I'm putting this forward (and pushing for it) because I really think it's the best option we have for a d1 lynch.

That sounds perfectly reasonable to me Kaidash if it's allowed by the rules. The best thing about that is that a lynch is made without any influence from scum and even if random: there's a relatively greater chance of hitting scum.

    Vote: No Lynch

Moridin's post about there needing to be a lynch is good and reasonable... which makes me suspicious of him. It sounds very much like the posts I made in early SWII as scum, trying to get the town to kill off their own players.

@Kai: there is one advantage to lynching as a town rather than making the Boy King decide: as a town, if we mislynch, we at least have the consolation of a Kingslayer kill. If the Boy King has to do it and kills someone pro-town, I don't think that counts as a mis-lynch and so doesn't count towards the Kingslayer's counter.

    (Right, Lutris?)

Anyway, going to be away for the next 12 hours or so, so I'm going to make a vote now:

    Vote player: Moridin
