It has come to my attention that unfortunately my mind is being boggled, with all the horrendous stories being written. Due to this epidemic, i fear i have been contaminated. I ask one of you to thus help me out. Looking for either a title or author of a specific story that was worth reading. I seem to have forgot due to the aforementioned problem.

This story if my brain has not failed me further had 16 chapters as of April of this year. It was a story of Harry Potter being dark and traveling back in time to that of 1981. In this story he was seen as unsavory and was masquerading as a side branch of the Potter family. His grandfather though figures him out and forces a strained companionship at first. As time progresses Harry's grandfather moves forwards into a more prominent role in his life.
In chapter 14 or 15 Harry duels our great villain and barely makes it out alive due to his grandfather anchoring Harry's sole. By doing this in front of Gringotts Wizarding Bank the Daily Prophet speculates that Harry is a bastard. hopefully this is enough information to spur someone's memory so i may continue reading said fic.

That was the story that my mind simply could not recall. Now that i have my answer i am disappointed in the fact the author simply ended it with no reasoning. Do you know if maybe the author simply moved his story to another site?

I actually needed to google search it to remember it. But from what I could see, there wasn't even any other site he/she published other than ff.net. This one; I happened to come by by chance.

While I'm unsure of the quality of the story that you've sought and found, authors removing their stories from ff.net, for sometimes even the most trivial of reasons, is quite a common occurence.

There are been a lot of decent, now-lost stories that have met this fate. :(

It's a good thing that a lot of people here keep them as .txt files, or know of an alternate site for them. :)
