The topic is Azkaban - not Harry is Azkaban. Obviously Harry is the main character, but that doesn't mean we can't have good stories without him.

 

Myst Shadow's one-shot comes to mind as a good example of an Azkaban fic that's not Harry-centric.

 

I actually have two nontypical azkaban stories ready to go, with some minor changes. One is a firefly crossover, so maybe I'll dust it off and finish it No promises though, considering I lost a lot of my work when my laptop died.

 

Firefly/Azkaban sounds exciting. Good luck getting it done in time, Anarchy.

I think, at least for me it sounds better, that before the 'kiss' you should insert an 'a'.

 

I'm excited for this topic. I've had an idea for awhile bouncing around in my head and this contest finally gives me a reason to write it. I don't even know how I am going to find time for this, however. For it to make sense, I will have to write 20,000 words before I can publish it. I'm already falling behind on school ._.

I also need a beta reader as Dumbledore is featured heavily in this fic and he is a hard character to portray.

 

This prompt is poking at my imagination too...I might be able to come up with something, although whether I'll have the time for a fifth fic is another matter!

First Oneshot completed at about 4400 words, still need to send to Beta to confirm. Now to puzzle out how I'm going to get Potter into Azkaban without turning it into the classic cliche.

 

I'm 12k words into my story, and I think that's only the halfway point. It's coming out longer than I expected -_-

 

I have 500 words written of this story... and I swear, it's going to have to be about 15,000 for it to get to the true awesome parts.

I don't know when I am going to have time to write this. I have a midterm for Calculus on Monday that I really need to study for.

 

Writing this is being more of a challenge than anticipated. Maybe 7.7+ total words written for both stories at this point, running out of steam for actual Azkaban-related scenes, oi.

Didn't have time to write anything in October, but my schedule is clearing up, and I'd like to participate this month, providing the topic intrigues me.

And the announcement arrives in a timely fashion. That too.

I'm not sure if I'm going to post my story. It's mostly finished, but it needs a lot of polishing and editing. Random 16" snow storm in october left me without power for 2 days, but I'll see if I can't get something polished up today that resembles a story.

 

You probably can't do any worse than I have(hovering at about fourth through last on most occasions ), Lord Anarchy, and one more submission is better than one less. Power through and polish up a copy afterward, so you can submit the more thorough version once results come up.

 

Finished and submitted Came in around 19k words, we'll see how it does in it's unedited state.
