That was a great premiere. Great mix of comedy, awesomeness, a timeskip that works in order to push past Rita or Lumen angst and to the story this year, about religion and all. It's a good way to introduce the concept, and the Olmos/Hanks team looks to be an interesting one.

Also, courtesy of Lutris... EDIT: Well, look down. I didn't want to ninja this away from him.

I still don't know what to make of those two nuts killing random people. I was kinda like WTF when I saw the younger dude (I haven't figured out his name yet) bash the joggers head in.

Also, I just want to say that I knew Deb was gonna get promoted. It was obvious to the point that I'm upset they resorted to such a cheap plot device. Even the reason they gave for the shooter going all nuts was shitty.

Other than that, I liked the new episode. Brother Sam is :awesome:awesome:awesome.

Looking forward to what they're planning for Brother Sam.

I'm increasingly impressed by Jennifer Carpenter's acting; Colin Hanks' not so much.

I kind of liked the (obvious) parallel with the killer being taught by his father(?) and also hiding this from his sister, with religious themes no less.

Am more positive towards this season now

I think I missed it. When do we see that Adama is his father?

It is kinda obvious but it isn't confirmed, is it?

Doesn't say, but I'd say that he is not.

He is filling that role for him though.

I don't see why he would be the father. The younger guy said that his sister is all that he had left which means the rest of their family probably died somehow. Maybe that is why he is so fucked up and is turning to a crazy religious guy. Father maybe in the religious sense.

Father, father-figure, same thing in this case really. It's not like Harry was Dexter's real father as well. Parallel still stands though

That makes way too much sense. If true, it's a fucking cheap trick. :(

So basically what they're going for is Harry is the imaginary Angel on Dexters shoulder while Rudy is now going to be the imaginary Devil?

Or Harry was the last bit of light in Dexter and with this kill he snuffed it out, making room for his brother. So, maybe no Harry for a while now.

Yeah that was my original thought as well, whoever he hallucinates represents the path he's on I suppose would be the phrase. When Dexter starts getting closer to human his brain conjures up the person he's always associated with his humanity and own sense of goodness. However whenever he gives in to his darkest impulses I simply thought Harry would go away but it seems if he goes far enough down that road big bro Rudy shows up as Dexter always associated him with all of his darkest urges.

    You mean, Geller is dead?

That does make alot of sense.

I always wondered why Geller was doing the painting instead of Travis.

We never see anyone interact with Geller, either.

    Good use of irony there.

If Brian becomes Dexter's angel on opposite shoulder I'd really like that. Been saying it for years. I want him to start losing more control. When Dexter is the most well collected person on the show something is wrong.

I'm betting on this too. Rather good observation, sir.
