I was playing Sivir for the second time ever, and Midknight was on Yi for the first in pvp. We had an experienced Yi on the other team and he ended up snowballing against us.

 

Nope. I got raped b/c I was a lowbie mixed in with high ranking dudes, learning a new to me champ, and the other guys were just wtf owning.

 

Yeah that was pretty lulzy. Then the Wu guy was like omfg you all r a clan!1! and then bitched when we didnt steamroll the other dudes, lol. You r pros wtf!

 

Morgana is so crazy to play. Flash in, turn on ult, stay alive for 3 seconds with shield and massive AOE, and pick off the smart carry who tried to run with snare. Cue triple kill followed up by ace.

 

That was v8, a pro team that isnt all that good, but has been around forever. They've had a bit of drama recently, too, but that whole match was hilarious.

 

Which is why they ban her every time I play draft-pick

 

A couple of days ago playing draft the opposing team banned my main Nasus. This was a choice I had never contemplated and found hilarious. So I played my 2nd. Amumu.

 

It's exactly because so many players fall in the 1100-1300 gap that I feel that is "elo hell"

I don't think that I'm some platinum player trapped or a diamond in the rough. I recognize things that I do wrong in game and I'm constantly working to becoming a better player. That being said I do feel there is more luck involved in this elo range than any other elo.

Yes, if you are a Gold or Plat player you can probably carry yourself out relatively quickly. My issue with this elo is, player skill is inconsistent from game to game. It is because the 1100-1300 range includes the players who just hit level 30 and feel like they are ready to play ranked even though they only have 175 normal game wins. That and trolls are everywhere, because there are more players in this range.

I find in more of my losses in this elo, it's not our team getting outplayed, but rather our team beating ourselves. Be it someone DC's because they have a terrible connection, someone rages because they think everyone on the team is beneath them, someone trolls because they couldn't play the role they wanted, or any of the other crazy things I've seen in this game.

Have I had games where I played bad and probably cost our team the game? Of course. I'd have no problem with my elo if I felt like it was my team getting legit outplayed in the majority of my losses. I feel like, in this elo range, it's a coin flip. You're either going to get the team that has the level headed players that give you a good chance to win, or you get the team of kids that will intentionally feed because they didn't get to pick their favorite champ.

About playing champions you like:

By no means am I saying don't play champions you like and that you're good at. Just do it within the team comp when playing ranked. I don't really put much value in "metateamcomp" in normals, which is where I play the majority of my poppy games now. Just don't lock in Brand when your the last pick and we need a support...

I wish I could just keep hard carrying with poppy like I did when I was at the shit elo (650-1150), but now I just put my team at a disadvantage early game when I pick her. If my team isn't good enough to pick up the early game slack and trust in my late game, then it's just a bad pick. Playing underplayed champs that fit in the meta is completely understandable. Champs like Poppy are sadly left by the wayside

 

Looking for a few seriouse players who actually know how to play that want to do some seriouse ranked games. Im 12-5 solo que atm with a 1502 elo and 12-3 with anivia who I main. I can also play Kat/Nunu/MF/xin/rumble/Skarner rather well also. I'd like to play a few non-ranked games with a couple of people and see how we work together as a team before jumping into any games. I finally got Xerath! Woooo!

I could easily end up forgetting to play any other champs this week. I love this dude so much.

Yeah, I'm finding that if I'm unsure, I run Soraka, and I haven't lost as her yet. Otherwise, I should practice more with my Sona and Veigar, as I've only played either of them roughly half a dozen times so far.
Also, yes, I know AD Sona is too gimmicky to run well in real games, but she is quite fun against bots at least. I did well with her when I ran Support too, and don't have problems doing so as normal.

I also just unlocked Evelynn, and have been running her through her paces. Deadly with equivalent or better levels and items, but rather poor, and more or less left to slow enemies for allies, without them.

That said, I'm interested in a few of this week's rotation Champions, so we'll see what happens with that.

 

I seem to be having connection issues with Lol the past few days. Everytime im on character select screen in generally lags out but still counts down then refuses to load the loading match screen. So I have to alt+f4 out of it and reload LoL then reconnect to the game. Anyone else have this issue?

If I can figure this out, I should be on for a few games around 4pm AEST for those interested Ill add them and we can try and get a game or 2 going.

 

Since everyone's doing it, I might as well join up. My screen name is the same as this one.

Fair warning though. I'm pretty new, with Nunu being the only one I'm halfway decent on. If no one minds that, then go ahead and send some invites.
