Looked for an existing thread, apparently there isn't one.

So, yeah. Hitman trailer, most of you have probably already seen it. Opinions? I think it looks pretty awesome, myself.

 

Whoever played that trailer sucks at Hitman, not going to get Silent Assassin ranking with that style.

So with that said, it's a pre-rendered cutscene with few to no story hints. I'm a big fan of the series so I'll probably buy it, but not because of the trailer. Well maybe a little because of the trailer.

 

Might as well post the full gameplay video of what appears to be an introductory mission.

Looked pretty damn scripted/railroaded, hopefully you'll have more freedom than that.

 

The beginning of blood money was railroad. I have high hopes for it, but I'll wait for non-critic reviews to get a feel for it.

 

Yeah, its never a good idea to judge a game by the tutorial. I imagine there will be a few scripted moments, but once you have a clearer objective than 'escape' you'll likely be able to accomplish the goal in different ways.

 

Any idea when is this coming out? I'm a fan of the hitman game series as well. Looks promising.

No seriously, what the hell. If you're not attempting to stealth through every section as perfectly as possible you aren't getting the most out of the game. Big gunfights means you're doing something wrong.

 

Only if your completely lazy and trying to rush through the game as fast as possible. If your trying to do a good job though then no one should ever know you were even in the same zip code much less that you killed anyone.

 

I try to do a good job and become a silent assassin but in my first play through, it usually ends with a massive fire fight.

 

I'm more partial to a massive genocide in which no witness takes part. That doesn't mean killing everyone, that means killing a whole lot without being seen.


Or sometimes everyone.

Or do fun things like use nothing but kitchen knives to kill targets.

 

*shrugs* I always used to lose patience with the stealthy aspect of the game and just go on killing rampages.

 

Always wanted to give Hitman games a try, but never really got around to it.
Question about the trailer. That chick in the bath, is she an actual character from other games? Does she actually know/has met the Agent before, or is it just for the purposes of the trailer?


Also, from the gameplay video someone posted, I had massive flashbacks to AC:Revelations and AC in general, at least for the stealth part. Which of the two is the rip-off? Or just similar?

Hitman was out with all of the stealth gameplay aspects well before AC1 was even announced.

 

Yes well, I suppose I got carried away by that red version of Eagle Vision.
I started reading a bit on the Hitman games. Seems well worth my time. Going to see if I can rent a couple.

 

Having only played AC1 (and completely regretting the money I spent on it) perhaps my knowledge of the series is poor but, Hitman plays nothing like AC.

Or at least the first one, I've heard the sequels are less run about like a retard doing errands, try and sneak up on your target, get knocked out of stealth by some jackass, run up and get in sword fight with target, run away like little bitch.
