Because this is the movie that made me discover just how awesome Harry Potter is (and the previous three failed when I had a chance to see them on various occasions), I can't agree with that statement.

I was introduced to the books first because of my aunt who was a school teacher and thought that every boy and girl should read a few thousand books before they died. But the movies were probably what actually got me into fanfiction, because now I had a face to all the names and well...Snape was so cool...

So I don't see the problem you have with Celestin only finding Harry Potter through movies.

That wasn't the point. The point was, if I had seen the movies without reading the books (GoF especially), I'm quite positive I would have hated Harry Potter.

You have an imagination deficit if you required movies before you could put faces to names when reading. I've never seen the movies, but I've got an image of the characters in my mind which has nothing to do with Warner Brother's casting director.

You think Snape is cool. Is that the fault of the movies? I hope to god it is. I'd like to blame something, and I'd rather it be the movies fault than the general worthlessness of human beings.

I hated it at the time. But now I send her books every Christmas/Birthday to say thanks.

I have difficulties going from descriptions of faces into pictures of faces so I generally just make stick figures and I thought Snape was cool right up until the sixth book when he killed Dumbledore. The seventh book just made me sadder for liking him because he turned out to be a sad little man.

Well, I kinda think Snape is a pretty cool character too. He was repulsive and horrible and a downright bastard most of the time, but he was also intelligent, creative and an absolutely brilliant spy. Deathly Hallows vindicated him a lot in my mind and he had multiple awesome moments during the last few books.

Bookwise Snape was awesome at the end of DH. That is pretty much the only time that label could be applied to him - I'm trying to think of other moments and am coming up blank. The problem is we saw Alan Rickman's Snape before DH so we tend to confuse his oily awesomeness with Book!Snape, who was portrayed as being quite pathetic really.

Tell Fanon!Malfoy/Thomas to hike up his pants. They're riding dangerously low. Who does he think he is? Ryan Reynolds?

Just be thankful he's not holding a red rose in his teeth and that his pants are not unbuttoned.

Not a meme, but a Deviant Art comment conversation that I found highly amusing. The illustrator totally over-reacted, but justifiably put a douche fangirl in her place.

context: *picture of Hermione and Ron that suggests they have feelings for each other*

    ___________
    ~OP
Says Herms: I REALLY want this guy for my boyfriend? I'm going to live to be a hundred and twenty, Jo. I think I can take some time to look around.

    ___________
    ~illustrator
Says Jo: Don't be silly, Hermione. You've wanted to hump Ron's leg since first year. I wrote you that way. And seeing as you're my self-insert, I don't know why you would disagree with me. I handed you a decent-looking man who knows the real you and is actually ATTRACTED to your obnoxious personality. And really, dear, you're such an overbearing, bossy know-it-all, that you should be happy I gave you friends in the first place.

    ___________
    ~OP
    Hump, yes. Marry, no.

    ___________

Trust me, I'm no Ron/Hermione shipper (not a shipper of anything really), but it's what JKR wrote, so the world has to deal with that. If you're unhappy with it, which I'm guessing you are, then I suggest you write/read alternative pairing fanfiction, rather than post meaningless shipper drivel in the REVIEW boards of my ART.

    On a related note:

Have you ever noticed the all-around pointlessness of trying to start an argument with someone that simply doesn't care?

    ___________
    ~OP
    Argument? I was just snarking.

But if you don't like my snark, I will say no more.

    ___________

    ~Illustrator
Snarking has no place in a critique/criticism/compliment section for art.

    ___________
    ~Illustrator
    Oh Good God... you're a Snape/Hermione fangirl!

    *facepalm*

    Well, that makes sense.

I wholly suggest that you never comment on the plausibility of canon relationships again, especially on an ART forum. Your fanbase repeatedly shatters the space-time continuum with its ridiculousness, causing future JKR to roll in her future grave.
