Personally, I hope that the next chapter this guy whose name I don't care to remember will tell us about the Spirit King, so this little filler arc will start to have some meaning in the bigger story.

Meh chapter to be honest, wasn't exactly swept off my feet with this "reveal"

 

The only thing this makes me want is some realistic 'Ichigo betrays SS' fics.

 

Are you shitting me? Anyone who's paying attention should have realized that this was the case a long time ago, possibly from the moment Ichigo was given the badge. This is hardly a shocking revelation.

EDIT: Ichigo, for all that he enjoys charging head-on like an idiot, is actually supposed to be fairly intelligent. I'll be extremely disappointed if it turns out that he never considered this possibility.

 

It's nice that he didn't just leave that possibility hanging, but yeah, not the most shocking revelation ever. If I remember correctly Ishida actually was a bit concerned about the thing way back when.

 

How is this SS being evil? What is SS's main goal? The balance of souls and shit.

Having people with high reiatsu in the mortal world actively fucks up the balance. Ergo, they have rules and regulations to prevent it, i.e. Captains + Vice Captains get limited to 20% when in the mortal world. Why would the badge having a built in limiter, especially in Ichigo's case, where his reiatsu level is pretty fucking high be seen as a bad thing. It should be noted that Kenpachi wears a limiter all the fucking time, by his own volition, so its not like they're stealing his reiatsu and using it as energy to power their magitek or someshit.

Sure the surveilance is a bit much, but there was this douchebag around called Aizen around, having surveilance on a key player in the war (Ichigo, because as per Unohana, they expected Ichigo to be a trumph against Aizen because he hadn't seen Aizen's shikai) is pretty fucking important.

In Ginjo's case the restrictions + surveilance might have been bad, but for Ichigo's circumstances, I don't think they're such a big deal.

 

Well, I'm hoping Kubo uses this as an excuse to flesh out Ukitake some more.

As Ceebee mentioned, considering Captains also wear limiters when operating in the human world, it should've been obvious that was what the badge did. The spying is slightly more shocking, I guess, but given what we know of SS...

Ginjo may be a cock. But you have to admit he looks absolutely badass.

I'm wondering what's with the new shape of Ichigo's Bankai. Does that mean his Bankai's effects are going to be different as well? I certainly hope so.

 

No. He is bone-themed, and the only thing he's likely to be boning is the fake Byakuya. Not cool. And also hilariously villainous, possibly more cheesy than Aizen. Those expressions.

 

Am glad that Ichigo doesn't react like an idiot and I have to admit, his new bankai looks boss.

Still can't bring myself to care for Ginjo, no matter how many ridiculous outfits he wears or how many bones he glues to his impractical sword.

I had actually hoped this chapter opened with the zone breaking because Ichigo had oneshotted Ginjo already and would have said everything he said in this chapter to a gravely injured Ginjo.

 

Nothing is more cheesy than the ultimate immortal butterfly.

 

Ahhh, the only reason I actually read Bleach anymore. Stylish new outfits and ridiculous swords.

 

...There were other reasons to read this manga?
