I think we all figured that out right about the first time he said any one of fifty comments that would have so many high priced lawyers crawling up Bethesdas ass that no one at the company would ever be able to taste anything but Armani again.

Yeah it isn't pretty unfortunately. Should be much easier once the toolkit comes out. I'm hoping there's a command we'll discover to just directly add perk points.

Just wanted to point out though if you didn't already know, but you can open the console and use commands while the perks menu is open. So you don't actually have to remember the name of the perk, you can just read it from the screen.

    Here's my mod.
Here's another respec mod that's better for most people. I just prefer my own because I don't want to have to leave the game to respec.

Also, if it is just a few points you would like to change, I'll explain the help command in case you weren't already aware.

Type "help "perk name" 0" in the console without the quotes on the end and it will bring up the ID for the perk that you can use with "player.addperk" and "player.removeperk".

If the perk is just one word like Armsman you don't need any quotes. If the perk name has a space in it you have to put quotes around them.

Lastly, and very important, if a perk has multiple ranks you must add them in the order they were meant to be added. Starting with rank 5 and then adding 4 and so on will give you crazy numbers.

You're right, my bad. I should have known that, since you didn't immediately blow it out of proportion and start being a dick. Key word here, immediately.

On topic: Anyone else start having corpses go stiff and become unlootable since the patch? Every 3rd thing I kill seems to get this problem.

Yeah I had a problem like that once. Killed a dark elf and he was basically lying down in the air and was unlootable and unmovable. I'm using the previous patch though. Heard about how the new one has a lot of problems and I'm just avoiding that for now.

Accidentally erased my bosmer sneak/assassin char that I put 30 something hours into when I rolled a mage somehow. Later on, after dying upwards of 10 times in this cave east of Whiterun, I managed to kill a falmer gloomlurker and dwarven centurion together on my newb mage without Lydia/meat shield....LIKE A BOSS!

Am I the only one who has never actually used Lydia or anyn of the followers? I can see how they'd be incredibly useful but I usually only remember them after I get my ass kicked.

Mages and thiefs are so squishy that it's nice to have follows soaking up aggro and damage while you take potshots from a distance. I can understand why someone wouldn't use them though...they do tend to make things less challenging overall. Playing on master difficulty though, they are pretty handy to have around until you clear that hurdle in the upper levels where I hear things go from being hard as fuck to god mode easy. If I was a warrior I'd probably want to fly solo, but as a mage I think I'll keep using my followers until I'm a little less killable.

I enjoyed Lydia on my mage for quite a while, but once all my attacks got to the point of blowing her up, I dropped her.

My stealth character hasn't needed anyone yet, but I haven't really fought crazy hard stuff... Just snuck up and one shotted them :D

Haven't used a companion since Lydia died within five minutes of me getting her, but I'm now going to play an Imperial who specialises in speech, smithing, enchanting and alchemy, so companions will be very important soon.

What do you guys think of the new Steam integration for modding? It's mentioned in Chengar's link. Not really too keen on it myself.

Depends on how well they pull that off, I still remember downloading Qarls Texture Pack for Oblivion. No matter how good Nexus is, their servers are slow. Steam could offer an easier way of installing/integrating mods, due to the huge community we would get way more screenshots and could easily see which mods our friends use and install them ourselves with a couple of clicks.

On the other hand, if this Steam integration reaches that level it'll be interesting to see how well it's going to play with utilities like Wrye Bash for example.

Less challenging? I just died 5 times trying to kill a room with 4 shades and a cold mage due to Lydia screwing up my strategy, only to kill them in the first try(without using my hp steal weapons) with my thief.

/me finds no use for Lydia anylonger, other than dragon bait.

I have decided that my next character will be Scar. The khajiit mammoth hunter. Fuck dragons, fuck guilds, I'mma make my living trading mammoth meat and riding around in a chariot made of giant bones.

Companions are awful if you're playing any sort of stealth-based character, since they all seem to have the AI of Leeroy Jenkins.

I'd like to use companions on my new Breton Mage but more or less every damn spell can friendly fire so I ended up barbecuing Lydia about ten times before I just said fuck it.

I set Lydia to essential with the console for this reason. ;)

Lawl fair point, I've just been trying to avoid using console commands though because the temptation to just magic up a fuckload of Ebony Ingots to make into armor or something like that would just be too much for me to resist. My next run through I'm getting full mods and taking all the opposite choices from this playthrough. I went with the Stormcloaks the first time around because they were the ones who helped me escape but then I realized Ulfric is an idiot and a lunatic and I started really regretting picking them.

In my first playthrough I went with the Imperials because they were the obviously not-racist and idiotic choice. On my second, I want to do things the other way, but goddamn. I seriously hate these guys. Idiot lunatic is right.
