I got another invite as well -- is it confirmed that these invites went out mostly to people who filled out surveys / pointed out bugs / were helpful or is that just an assumption?

Probably an assumption, I filled out most of the surveys I was asked to and didn't get an invite to this last one.

Same. However, I did miss out on two days worth of testing due to a bug and being on vacation.

I got invited back, and I barely played 10 mins. I did fill the survey though.

I didn't get invited, which sucks. However, I was able to play all the Empire classes, 3 to 10+. Was a great opportunity to check the game out.

When people say this game is like WoW vanilla, I grin.

WoW vanilla was fucking fantastic, and I was one of those guys who loved every second of it. I talk to people playing WoW now, and they don't know who C'thun is. It's sad. Those dungeons, apparently, have been worked out of the game.

I have high hopes for SWTOR, because I am a no shit type of MMO gamer.

I did a few surveys and I sent reports every time my character got stuck >__> Sress tested like a good puppet too. But nooooo invite for me. December 15-19th can't come soon enough.

By the way, is the beta client being patched to retail client or will there be another download?

That's a good question, if not then I'm getting rid of it pronto, no need to take up that much room.

No they're all still there its just that at 85 in full raiding gear going through is so trivial that its pretty much what you do to kill ten minutes between other dungeons or raids.

Stephen Reid said that the last beta weekend, 25-27 november is being in the range of patch to release client. Earlier than that you're recomennded to make a clean install due to the amount of updates.

"Customers who redeem their Pre-Order Code at the Code Redemption Center prior to launch will be able to pre-load the Star Wars: The Old Republic Game Client before the official Game launch. Pre-loading the Game does not grant you access to the Game. Pre-Ordering the Game only allows you access to the Early Game Access period and your Color Crystal. Early Game Access may be up to 7 days. The length of your Early Game Access depends on the date and order in which you redeemed your Pre-Order Code. In order to continue playing the Game after the Early Game Access period, you must redeem your official Game Product Registration Code at the Code Redemption Center."

Early Access is now 7 instead of 5 days maximum. Tremendous news!
Confirmed by SR aswell.

Early Game Access* will begin on December 13th at 7:00AM EST, 2011 and ends on December 19th, 2011 at 10:01PM EST. During this time, we will be emailing invitations to join Early Game Access based on the order in which you redeemed your Pre-Order Code. Pre-load the game client now, so you're ready to play when your Early Game Access invitation arrives. Note that download time can vary and may take awhile.

By a while they mean upwards of 5 hours. The game is 25 gigs. It's huge, WoW with 4.0 ( which was when I quit) was only around 15.

So, while early-access may be 7 days, they decided to NOT go with a grace period. This means that after early-access, you need to enter your CD key. So people, like me, who's game won't be delivered until AFTER Christmas get the shaft.

Good game EA/Bioware. Keep up the good work.

Be happy that you're getting it at all. Some parts of the world don't even have a release date yet.

Fresh install is quite exactly 18.5 gb, not 25.

Also, Agnostic. From Stephen Reid on twitter.

"In the USA and Canada, copies of #SWTOR will be available at retail starting on December 20, 2011."

Is there a special reason why you wont get yours post Christmas?

Some retailers aren't shipping until the 20th---causing those copies to arrive well after the launch date. This is why people wanted the grace period, and are raging now that the (previously promised on the website and by developer) grace period has been withdrawn.

Anyone know if it's possible to buy the US version in NZ/Aus? Because an oceanic version of the servers won't be out for around a year apparently.

I signed up for the beta, and managed to get in. When it came to downloading the client, it told me I was in the wrong region. To me, that suggests that it'll be region locked.

Here's hoping it isn't.

Edit: I'm in New Zealand, in case you're feeling lazy.

It's been said by SR, can't be bothered to unearth a quote atm, that there will be no region lock. Ordering from a greenzone should be enough.

Then again, it's possible they've been scumbags and will region lock all redlight zones. Tinfoil hat on. :sherlock:
