I'm currently in love with Fiddle, but I don't think I've ever had a game yet where the laners can spare me to actually stay in the jungle =(

I've gotten some time in on the weekends, and occasionally stealing wifi when I'm out of town, so I've gotten playably passable with: Teemo, Warwick, Fiddlesticks, Fizz, Karthus, Tristana, Master Yi and I'm learning Morgana. I just like ranged in this game for the harrassment factor without having to take tower shots. Any other suggestions for champs I can learn? I bought the digital collector's edition, so I got all those unlocked.

Anyone been having lag and dc issues at all? Unless I keep refreshing the page buy opening and closing my rune page on champion select I lag out and dc and then when I do make it into a game I'm stuck with around 600 ping. Ive barely been able to play and when I have ive basically been a liability to my team. So if anyone has/had the same issue and knows how to fix it I'd appreciate it.

I have no idea how you Australians play. I remember playing a game of HoN with Shezza, Jon and some other Australians and they said that 175 ping or so is normal and fine to play with.

In that style of game anything over 100 is a liability IMO.

So, I'm considering picking up either Shaco, Pantheon or Xin Zhao (Whin Nao!).

Since the only assassin character I have is Eve, and well, Eve sucks.

But I can't choose which one to get. Shaco is awesome, but waaaayyyy overplayed. Pantheon is pretty cool, but his ult is fairly easy to dodge, Xin Zhao is beast, but I remember someone here saying that he actually sucks.

    So, halp?

Irelia > Xin Zhao. If I recall correctly you already have Irelia, so it wouldn't be worth buying Xin.

With the current meta, which still seems to be tanky dps focused, Pantheon is at a disadvantage. He's an anti-carry glass cannon champion, in a meta where tanky-dps champions can do his job just as well as he can (unless he's super fed). He doesn't have any of the advantages some of the other assassin champions have, such as an escape or stealth. He's also pretty squishy all through the game.

Go for Shaco. Since he's overplayed, learning how to play him will also help you counter him in the future.

As someone who plays Shaco, I say Mantheon is the only choice.

Try out Caitlyn and Annie. They've got some crazy range that I'm sure you'll love.

Whoops. Also, too late. Got xin already, thanks though.

And nope, no Irelia here. Just played the hell out of her during the free week some months back.

Didn't want to save up 6300 though. >.>

Annie has one of the shortest ranges on her abilities of any ranged in the game. Just fyi.

    Huh?
    625 AA range
    625 Q range
    625 W range
E has no range, it's self cast
R ~800 range from annie to the edge of Tibber's circle.

That's about average for spells if you exclude non-ranged characters.

Didn't really care for Annie, despite seeing how even noobs can rape with her with a small amount of effort. I really like Sion though, might move to learn him next instead, or Xerath. I played against him the other day, and the guy was a monster.

Xerath is incredibly good at securing kills and influencing the battle even from far away. But his main poke/harass (and thus also his stun) is a skillshot and so is his ult. Also, he's very susceptible to ganks. AD champs have a bit more issue ganking him because he gets 15% armor per AP.

He's fairly mana hungry, too. And you either have to build mana early, and thus sacrifice your damage, or rely on a jungler/blue buff which is.. iffy, without a good team/jungler.

On the upside, when you're past his mana issues, he's got incredible burst, and I can only think of a couple champs with more ability just reach out and slap somebody from far away.

Xerath is also entirely about positioning, and he needs a good team to be really effective. He's not really designed for solo-q, since to be most effective he needs to be protected hardcore. Otherwise good teams will just focus him with high mobility champs and rape him.

    For instance, Katarina/Akali. Ouch.

Also, he's shutdown pretty hard by Lux, who has even better range than he does, and more CC to add ontop of it.

AP Sion is Stronk, and scales well the entire game. Though he also has serious mana issues early game.

AD Sion is expensive as hell to build right, so you have to be really good at last-hitting minions, he's very susceptible to ranged chars poking and harassing him, too. But endgame I cannot (easily) think of a character stronger 1v1 than a fed/farmed AD Sion played well.

Shut down entirely by ignite/exhaust. Ignite him when he ulti's and he can't heal enough to survive the damage that ignite is doing. Whereas while ignite may weaken the heal of Sion's ulti, he still heals for a hell of a lot more, not to mention that his ult also increases damage output liek whoa. Whereass Trynd has to sacrifice much of his in an attempt to survive.

AD sion would beat trynd late game, his 150% lifesteal would come out ahead. High enough HP values to prevent getting shat on by crit strings because of his E, and with a full build his crit heals would be doing more healing than trynd could stand.

Many Tryndameres take Cleanse/QSS to counter exactly that.

Fair enough. AD Sion is still better lategame. See above.

    Edit:

The total sum mass of my hatred for Solo-q could not be contained by even the nigh-unmeasureable depths of the Mariana Trench.

EVERY game. I get a fucking feeder on my team. Generally as MY lane partner. EVERY FUCKING GAME. For the last 12 damn games!

I'm ready to pull my damned hair out.

Which is why I rarely solo queue these days.
