Fuck. An even bigger tear-jerking moment happens a few episodes later in the Cell Games. The super epic part where ss2 Gohan and Cell are using their beam waves in the final showdown, and Vegeta comes in at the last second and hits Cell with a blast just barely powerful enough to cause Cell to falter, and then he get's obliterated.

 

Epic yeah, tearjerker not so much. Vegeta went nuts on Cell out of rage, but Goku sacrificed himself out of love. Not to mention the fact that Vegeta was still a mega douche during the Cell Games.

 

Yeah but being a mega douche suits Vegeta.
