Ugh, the only good I can see coming from this clusterfuck chapter is that my Naruto/Dragon Ball crossover fic will benefit from all the info I just got about the Four-Tails. Apart from that, this manga is basically screwed.

 

But what about all the YYH crossovers with Naruto/Kurama?

I always found the fact that the Nine-Tails flashes back to what Naruto said more than retarded. How would you react if someone said "I'd like to get rid of that hate of yours someday"? That's just awkward.

I've always wondered how exactly do you get rid of someone's hate?

Bwahaha. When the ape said his name was "Son" I was wondering if they'd really go there. And it looks like they did. This is why I read the manga - the sheer absurdity that can happen.

Looks like Kishi's looking to move Naruto from manga to regular soap opera now. All that's needed is for a few of the tailed-beasts to be female and for inter-species relationships to have happened between the nine of 'em...

As for the chapter - no surprises. Though I wonder how long Kishi was waiting to introduce Son Goku into his manga. Dragon Ball Forever!

And before someone says something - I'm aware of Journey to the West. On the other hand I have no idea where did he get 'Kurama' from.

 

Now he's got two characters based on Sun Wukong. Enma and the Four-Tails.

Mount Kurama was the home of Sōjōbō, king of the Tengu demons (i.e. the demons that the various Susanoo forms are based on). There's also a fire temple on Mt. Kurama. Could just be a generalised reference to the fact that the Kyuubi is associated with Fire Country, and that he's interconnected with the power of the Uchiha somehow.

 

whoa... *keanu.jpg* Contrary to most of you I actually liked the chapter. I do like where this is going. As far as 'Kurama' goes, maybe Lutris can enlighten us regarding that. Kurama in YYH is a legendary demon fox, and now that the Kyuubi's name is Kurama I can't see this being a coincidence. Is there some Japanese legend about fox demons and the name Kurama or something? Lutris?

 

So the bijuu have names. That is such a huge retcon. Are we supposed to believe that in all the encounters Naruto had with Kyuubi, Kyuubi never bothered to tell Naruto to use his real name. And what about Hachibi, why does Bee use that, rather than Hachibis real name. And for that matter, why did Hachibi not tell Naruto Kyuubis real name in order to try and smooth things between them.

Still, I will say that I was (slightly pleasantly) surprised that Kyuubi did not support Naruto in this chapter afterall. I had expected he would, and we would get some new KCM mode from Naruto. However, to be in any way realistic, it should take a LOT more to convince Kyuubi to work with Naruto willingly. Since Naruto ripped out Kyuubis chakra, the two have barely spoken more than a few sentences. Expecting something like that to suddenly turn Kyuubi all helpfull and good would have been sickening. In order for me to buy it properly, there should be a lot more interaction to prove Naruto is different from the others, before Kyuubi agrees to work together freely.

Naruto entering Younbis prison was interesting. I wonder if he could somehow free him, or seal it into himself somehow. That would certainly screw Tobis plans very effectively. Its astonishing that Tobi was so stupid as to risk losing his already captured bijuus, by sealing them into hosts. Yonbi did first think that Naruto had entered that place in search for power, so maybe we will get to see a new powerup where Younbi lends Naruto a bit of his power. I wonder what would happen if you seal two bijuu into a single person.

 

In the case of a Yonbi/Kyuubi dual jinchuuriki? Super Saiyan Chakra Mode.

I can't say I disliked the chapter. Kyuubi's been a source of conflict for Naruto since day 1 and now we're seeing it resolved. It would have either ended up with Kyuubi as one of the last bosses and Naruto destroying it or the befriending. And with Zabuza, Neji, Gaara, Chiyo etc, the befriending was always the most likely.

And Bijuu having names? No surprise. They're sentient creatures, after all.

Yes. Why is this surprising? On the first occassion they met, Naruto just bitched at him.
