Zenzo, you are stupid if you can find anything concrete in day one. I wouldn't even say I think my targets are scum though. I would just be amused to see them die for their bad jokes and it also forces people to post when such discussions are happening.

Lighten up. Going after somebody for such a pathetic reason isn't exactly painting you in a position to keep around, since you're willing to turn on somebody for the most childish purpose possible.

Any opinions on whether we should lynch today or not. There are several arguments that can be made both for and against it. I'd argue for lynching, since it gives info roles more information to work with to decide their checks, but we're facing 12 scum in this game, so perhaps we should leave off until we have a better idea of who could be what.

 

I want to see what happens as the day wears on, as it stands now we'd basically be drawing names out of a hat and considering the pool of scum running around being careless and lynching a random target could end extremely poorly for us. I'm not saying we shouldn't lynch anyone today necessarily but given the fact that most people have made at best 2-3 posts lynching someone off of it seems a little silly to me.

 

The first lynch of the game is pretty much always a shot in the dark, anyway, and the proportion town/scum in this version is more favorable than usual. I'd say it's probably convenient enough to lynch. I'm not going to jump on a bandwagon just yet, though.

There are a lot of very powerful roles in this game. This is going to take some getting used to.

 

Yeah, there are roles who seem to be in this game just to mess things up, which makes them somewhat powerful and very annoying.

Silly, not-really-gameplay-related question: why "the Ectomancer" and not "Mortimer Lindquist"? And then again, why Stallings and not Murphy? I loath her too but, come on... the former has like two lines in the books!

And why is there no Molly? Molly is such an awesome character. Oh well.

There are 16 townie-like roles, 11 scum-like roles and 1 neutral, I believe.

If we lynch, we have a 57% chance of it being a townie, 40% chance of it being scum and 3% of it being the Erlking.

We have one townie that can do night kills but no scum that can do night kills (though some can taint and corrupt).

This leads me into thinking we really don't need to do a lynch today if we don't want to. At this point it's just throwing names into a hat, I have no idea who is scum or not.

 

^ You're forgetting Red King, who CAN kill people.

 

^ And White and Black courts and Nicodemus that can turn people to their camp. If we do not lynch somebody we are just giving the scum more people and time to win.

 

Also, not a night kill against town, I know, but every night Lara Raith can kill Reds and Blacks if she seduces them, which is pretty awesome. I'm guessing the Red King would survive and Dracula could be revived, though.

And I dont think anyone is necessarily trying to advocate no lynch at all but lynching this early with this little to go on is simply a bad move all things considered. I say we just wait until we come a lot closer to the deadline for today and decide together who to go with.

 

It seems like that should actually be the goal of the White Court, since they win if they end the game with more survivors than the other Courts and their seduced townies don't count as "theirs", unlike the Blacks.

Wait what? All I said was lynching within the first ten minutes based off of literally three posts maximum is a poor idea and it really is. We need to wait until much further towards the end of the day. How do you possibly connect that to White Court?

Rofl xD, no worries boss. I personally just feel that we need to wait and gather as many posts as possible on day one before we decide on a target. We have literally nothing but a handful of posts from people to go off of with people at absolute most having made three and that just doesn't tell us much.

 

I won't be able to post much this week but I'll do what I can. I definitely think we should lynch day one both to help info roles and because we have pretty good odds of hitting a scum compared to most games. I'll read the rest of the thread when I wake up and decide who to vote for then.
