Wouldn't doing it in summer kind of cheapen the whole affair? Every christmas works perfectly but if you're doing it twice a year then it's just going to lose it's appeal.

 

Exactly. ^^^ We spend all year saving our good cheer up. I know I won't be able to get into the holiday season in the summer.

Still think doing this again in a year is a awesome idea.

 

Steam was acting a bit strange over the Winter Sale, as expected due to the heavy load. I didn't expect it to be quite this much though.

I don't think so...it's fun to have events like these more than once a year (especially since Steam has monster sales both during the holiday season as well as during June/July/whenever it is).

Reddit (through redditgifts) has both a Secret Santa in the winter and "Arbitrary Day" in the summer, if you want an example of successful awesomeness.

 

Just here to say that Jon is awesome for organizing this, and that I got Frozen Synapse from Mishie and Overlord from Glernaj.
