Hogsmeade was a bastion of safety in a time of war....or so we thought, until one bright, snowy winter morning. I usually walk around the outskirts of town every dawn, like I've done every dawn for the past 10 years. Despite the outskirts of town including the border to the Forbidden Forest, I have never once come across anything amiss.

This morning, however, a dire sight greeted me. A young Japanese fellow I was in the acquaintance of, by the name of Lou Triss, had been in the habit of making trips to the Forest. He was regarded as a rather odd fellow, perhaps out of racism, or perhaps due to the townsfolk sensing his interests. He had confided in me, telling me that he had a bit of thing for puffskeins. There happened to be a colony of puffskeins residing in the Forest, and so, night after night, Lou would journey there and...uh...frolic. Yes, frolic.

He had done so ever since he moved to Hogsmeade. He would do so never again. For you see, that crisp morning I arose to see poor, poor Lou splayed out in the snow, puffskeins licking his naked, bleeding corpse. Carved into his chest (in Comic Sans no less) was simply Beastlover.

I knew instantly that this could only mean one thing. Hogsmeade had something worse than a horrible font to worry about.

DEATH EATERS!​

I rushed to the Owl Post Office to send a letter to the Minister telling him what had occurred, and informed him that I would be activating the wards that had been set up not one week prior.

I would catch Lou Triss' killers. And I thank Merlin there were Dementors already within the bounds of Hogsmeade. Hogsmeade was officially on lockdown.

Wow, both Awesomefia and this starting around the same time and Dresden is also kicking into gear! I'm glad this one's simpler than the others.

Moving on, I think we should check everyone's forearms for dark marks...

or barring that, we could always lynch a lurker.
