I ran across this story a while back, and the author finally finished it. I found it to be enjoyable. It wasn't riveting or anything, but held my interest.

Honestly, I felt the only thing that really held the story back was the somewhat common grammar and spelling mistakes that really should have been fixed. If it weren't for those mistakes I might have put it up For Review instead, but felt that those mistakes pulled it a little too far down.

It is an interesting story, though I felt that the writing wasn't truly spectacular. There were some interesting plot holes throughout the story that bothered me.
    1) Why did the Time Turner activate? How the hell could Hermione know how each time turner worked and how did she know what time period?
    2) How is it that by going BACK in time 5 centuries, Harry and Hermione can find someone who is more knowledgeable about time travel than anyone in the present?

I'm sure there are more, but I read most of that story a long while ago and can't be bothered to reread it. All in all I would rate the story as a fun time waster -- something to only bother with if ennui is knocking and there isn't anything better to be found.

Almost recommendable is perhaps the right place for it as it's not really awful but at least I think it wasted its potential too much. I never really got the impression of them being in the 15th century, the past dark lord is a cheap clone of Voldemort with even more stupid death eater replacements. The action was awkward and the actual plot felt too bland as there was no real dramaturgy. In the end I think the guardian/headmaster are self inserts of the writer because they took over the lead which devaluates Harry/Hermione's function in the end.

I think I lost respect for this author when he started writing what sounded like pony smutt, had to de-alert, which is a 1st I think. He use to have a lot of lil creative AUs and stuff, and for the sheer amount of writing he does I still have some respect for him though I haven't really wanted to reread anything he's wrote really.

I thought the idea of Crabbe and Goyle screwing with pregnancy tests was funny

    The fuck?

I don't know the majority of those names, and even beyond that I don't imagine most of the characters like they looked in the films. I imagine them how I first imagined them when I first read the books.

Ah, I remember Boy is Trouble. Had some serious potential. But the author posted it on TFF. And got feedback. And somehow a debate over the various OCs and their looks started. So the cast list was made by them.

Ah, good times. Still a decent read if you're just wasting time.

Just because the author desperately needs images to "tame the Bludger" to.

What. This is probably one of the worst fics I've ever seen. The author can barely write and the plot is him having sex with a bunch of different women who are written as if they are in a porn?

    0/5...

It is mostly porn without plot -- and even then it barely measures up as smut. The question, though, is he writing a parody of Fanfiction Porn? Seen through that lense, it is kinda funny in a sad, pathetic sort of way.

Wait, are you telling me that this fic was actually a serious try at a story!?
I had just always assumed that the author was doing it for fun and using it as a way to make fun of fanfic porn.

Right then, forget I ever mentioned the fic. I'm going to go torture the author Bob & Alyx style.

Summary: From the historic field of Hogwarts to the famous stadiums of Europe, Harry signs a professional contract with Puddlemere and joins up alongside old friends. With his social life often causing mayhem for the club, it's going to be harder than he expected.
    Harry Potter - Rated: M - English - Chapters: 3 - Words: 25,228 - Reviews: 20 - Updated: 1-18-12 - Published: 1-4-12 - Harry P. & Daphne G.

The chapter length is good, as is the update rate. The premise is pretty much self-explanatory but it appears as if Harry and Dumbledore defeated Voldemort a few years earlier than in canon and this has caused Harry to lighten up quiet a bit. His personality reminds me of a canon James. As far as Quidditch based stories go this is probably the best I've read.

Been reading/following that - it's a good choice for the AC thread, but I dislike how Harry has essentially become a carbon-copy of James, rather than his own person.

I'm a fan of Quidditch fics, but as far as the opening scene with the match and Draco goes, I'm decidedly unimpressed. I had to force myself to read it. I dunno, it seemed to stretch on and on, dragging, and that is exactly the opposite of what you want to convey with a Quidditch scene (and the problem has nothing to do with the actual length, by the way). Also, I'm tired of reading about Harry and Draco fighting. Especially if it ends up with the stadium on fire. Exaggerated much?

So yeah, the opening of the story is very meh. I'll skim it a little and see if it gets better.

Yeah the opening scene is way to long; but if you're looking to kill about 45 minutes than it's not that bad.
