Seems to be a good one, or a least a good start.

To also address former ill mannered posts concerning personal issues, it takes a week mind to attack an individual rather than the idea that they put forth.

I found that reading Frank's works was much easier after i learned to speed read, because they were great sleeping material in between the great plot and mix of scifi and religion. He had a great way to entice the reader to stick it out with some of the boring bits of philosophy with wonderful nuggets of sense and action. The movie had always been good, the old one from 84, at least in my opinion. Some of the effects and closer to cannon items int he 2000 and 2003 bits were great but it was difficult not to press the fast foreword button during the parts i knew were going to be the same.

It could easily be written in a way that captures the story still, even the philosophical prolific and almost gullible atmosphere of the Fremen and that entire universe.

However some of the fanfiction I've read goes into the philosophy of magic to the point that it is, while not similar, eerily equivalent to some of the aspects of that world.

Honestly the fifth thru sixth books were quite prolific but even then didn't have any of the Frank quality that seemed to add depth to his works, but was quite on par with the Kevin and Brian works, I might even go so far as to say they were about even when it came to content and filling the story out.

Anytime you have crossovers you're going to have to mesh or alter the wonderful works the real author wrote so don't get your panties in a twist over the idea that someone somewhere doesn't think its a good idea.

I actually found this when i was looking for a good harry Dune or BtVS dune crossover off google, just so that you know that others are interested in how people, everyday normal people and strange weird people alike, will mix and match the two universes.

I myself and trying to write one that has Harry showing up on Dune before Hogwarts and able to feel the warms because of the spice, i don't know if I'll ever get it clean enough to publish on a fan fic site and i know it won't ever be up to Franks work, and JKR, well several fanfics are better than cannon so i usually use them to measure skill with the Harry Potter world.

Lurke some more and read the forum rules! Your posting might be interesting in itself, but to necro a SIX year old thread is ridiculous.

Except that he made some good points. He obviously knew it was necroing due to the reminder, and he proved that it was worth it by not posting uselessly.

I only know the bare minimum of Dune story, but what did you mean by warms? I can't imagine Harry should be able to feel anything magical at all before Hogwarts, especially since he doesn't know about magic yet. Unless these things are ultra-sonic waves of energy to those who aren't normal people, I can't really accept the idea that a person who could, at this point, only eventually become a user of magic is able to manipulate or understand any forces that are unnatural. Unless there is Dune-verse stuff that makes this irrelevent.
