That's precisely why, Bill. I, too have given up far too much of much of my life to TvTropes, Aekiel.

Honestly never found what exactly is so captivating about tv tropes. I open the site, my brain hurts from looking at the god awful design, I close the page. Takes maybe 3 seconds?

Cracked, different story, at least that's interesting, sometimes. Still, to get back on topic (afraid I lack any new pictures, well, can't avoid re-posts anyway) I think I'll be using the 'Haters' gif. from now on.

More like overly curious. Read through an article, spot an interesting link (I'll just check to see what this is about after I'm done with this page). Cue the end of the first page and you've got five other tabs open waiting to be read. I just enjoy learning things.

There is very little you can 'learn' from tvtropes that you probably couldn't already identify through your experience as an objective member of an audience. Tvtropes just gives cliches and trends snazzy names.

True, but then you could say the same thing of an encyclopaedia. Doesn't mean you can't learn something from them.

I don't believe that's true. Tvtropes provides names to trends that you can only understand through virtue of having already immersed yourself in mass culture. You don't need tvtropes to recognise Dumbledore as a grandfatherly mentor figure along the same lines as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars but tvtropes does give it a few comedic lines (even naming the trope 'The Obi-Wan') and maybe points out a few films/books that the trend appears in that you might not have thought about.

An encyclopaedia can provide to you entirely new information that doesn't require any prior immersion in that particular segment of knowledge beyond the very basic abstracts.

edit: Sorry for lack of pokemon-ness.
