When I saw him fucking up Moka, I thought it was becoming a bit repetitive and almost seemed like it was just starting to become a "Kill all the main characters in the anime" fic. But I did like that this particular event did seem to lead towards a major character development turning point. I wonder if this will change his paranoid and brutal reaction to everything, or make it worse (now that he'll probably actually have a reason to be paranoid).

Loved the whole scene with Keito at the end. His explosion at her insinuating he might not be human, and then what followed - totally shipping that pairing. =P

Updated. Something of a filler chapter, but it is pretty cool to see everyone's reactions to Moka's death. That fucking rosario is going to come back and bite him in the ass though.

Ha. If the Rosario wasn't there though, what would happen to the story?

Tsukune spends the new year or so with his Spider girlfriend scaring everyone else and generally living as he does now.

Yeah, it's kinda like, the first chapter where he's really on top of things, comfortable with his standing (well, as much as he can be in the circumstances) and even almost happy. Somethings gotta break that up.

For a chapter titled "Aftershocks", this sure didn't have any shock value. :p

    Filler chapter is filler.

Filler? Sometimes that word means story-padding, in most cases that is true, but not with this chapter.

From a narrative and character point of view, it was important. As I've read more and more I've come to realize the importance of such high points and low points. To see the action and how it effects those around them.

For me, this latest chapter was pretty awesome. His changing relationship with Keito, how the school is starting to fear him all together, how he's coping with everything. Hell, how even Keito is actually showing some growth as a character. All of these interested me as much as him putting a stake through Moka's chest.

The way I see it, the first eight chapters were all a part of a "arc", culminating in his biggest achievement in killing Moka. They all had similar formulas with Tsukune fearing for his life, some random monster picks a fight, and he does everything he can to kill them before they kill him. But with this breather I get the feeling that a new "arc" with a new formula is coming.

That said, even if this is just a breather, it certainly was a pleasant read. Just a brief moment where something bad isn't being thrown into Tsukune's face is a nice change after what has been happening.

Goddamn that was great. Belmont in Monster High? I'll agree that it's the end of the arc; it's the high point, time to wait for the other shoe to drop and everything to go to hell.

Speaking of Belmont, I doubt Tsukune will get any power ups like ghoul mode or Belmont's Whip this time around. That would completely negate the purpose of the story.

Yeah, it's in the title. We're reading this to watch our Hero turn into what he fears, not physically, but more along his state of mind, for him to stare into The Abyss and see if he blinks first.

Updated. Tsukune reveals a new phobia (for use later most likely), Keito defends her turf and takes Tsukune on a date, Moka's rosario isn't mentioned, and Tsukune goes home for spring break. No new fights. I like the fact that the author isn't following the same "What will Tsukune kill this time?" formula.

EDIT: I totally forgot to mention the slightly creepy cameo of Kurono Kurumu.

I honestly was unsettled by what happened to Keito's victim. Something about that scene, just that no one di anything to help, really got to me.

    Monstrous!Fic is Monstrous.

    Still, 5/5 from me.

    Psh.

Tsukune doesn't have to change at all.

    Don't you realize?

Human beings are the greatest monsters of all.

This fic is great and should be updated ten times as often.

EDIT: Uh...holy shit. Just checking, but, uh,

    ...did
    Keito eat Kurumu?

^ Shame. I don't know why but still had hope that Kurumu was alive somewhere in a dank damp cell.

Yeah, I didn't pick up on the eating part while reading the chapter. I also think its a shame.

But high expectations for the next chapter (or two) in which Tsukune realizes he is a monster now, for real and can't exist without the tension and danger of the high school.

And on a voice on high did say, thine day just shone brighter for the holy words from such a hallowed work are yours to peruse.

Now I'm off to read about a boy living in hell slowly becoming a monster.

Things seem to be going too well for Tsukune. There's a distinct lack of conflict.

He's accepted his monstrous side; Keito isn't a threat; possible conflict with his parents came to nothing; no conflict with staff or students; he even went big swinging dick on the principal seemingly without consequence.

I thought there was a horror story here. More conflict please. And make Tsukune sink lower.
