Been meaning to ask before I downloaded any, do these work with existing games? Like my level 35 Dragonborn isn't suddenly going to crash and burn every time I try to open it?

I suppose some individual mods might, so you might want to check the description/comments for the mod's page and perhaps ask here too, but most mods will work with a savegame. I can't actually think of any that I use that would be incompatible with one (provided I took the necessary precautions e.g. if I use a mod that modifies Breezehome, I make sure my savegame is out of Breezehome, even out of Whiterun for safety's sake).

Thanks. Second question: Where do I put the Nexus Mod Manager file to get it working correctly? Wouldn't run right in either Program Files or on Desktop. :sherlock:

How do you mean, NMM file? I just installed it normally, like any other program, and it scanned my computer and found my Skyrim directory, which I then had to pick out of a list of installed games (IIRC, I still had Oblivion installed). Could you elaborate?

I installed it, had it scan for Skyrim and get it picked out, but then it just kept saying that it couldn't pick Skyrim, and that it might be because it was in Program Files. Took it out of Files and onto Desktop, got the same response.

Are you sure it didn't mean that it was because Skyrim is in Program Files?

I'm not really understanding what the problem is clearly, but if the scan isn't detecting your Skyrim folder, you can tell it manually. Open the mod manager, click on the little gears symbol at the top to open the settings, go to the Skyrim tab and enter in where your mod directory is (probably in your steamapps, etc.).

Fucking... I removed every menu-related mod I had. Better Sorting, SkyUI, font thing... And it turns out the problem is ...SkyUI. >_> Readding everything except that works fine. Re-add it and it takes like... 30 seconds to open, ten seconds per item when storing/taking/buying. :|

Weird, maybe it's just the newest version? Which... I just literally upgraded to 5 seconds ago, fuck I'll see soon if it's what broke the game, lol

I was using v2.0 of SkyUI all day Saturday and Sunday with no lag at all in the menu.

Yeah just got done playing, no issues here either.

The first person that makes a no-clipping mod for your followers is god. Tired of getting stuck on the fuckers. Sprinting at them is an annoying way to make them move.

Agreed. Hate it when Lydia decides to stop just inside a doorway...

This is the only thing I use shouts for: to push companions out of doorways.

Huh. Just bumping into her is usually enough to get her out of my way... if that fails, I just talk to her and tell her to wait somewhere not in the doorway, then tell her to follow me again.

Poor Lydia... She was actually invaluable in my fight against Alduin. As a squishy mage, I find her meatshield tankiness quite useful.
