    Title:A Wizard's Displacement
    Author: The Cursed and Torn
    Rating: T
    Genre: Adventure/Romance
    Status: WIP
    Library Category: Crossover/General
    Pairings: Harry/Girl
Summary: Harry is sent a good one hundred and sixty seven years in the future after the death of Voldemort, and finds himself out of his comfort zone, more so then usual. Why was it that he always ended up in these damnable situations..

Basically its a Harry Potter/Mass Effect Crossover, where Harry is mysteriously transported to the Mass Effect world. I really don't know anything about the Mass Effect Universe but the story did not confuse me at all, The author did a good job explain everything I needed to know.
Story has potential, I also notice some grammar issue but its still readable.

I don't think I have to read past the summary in the first chapter.

However, after skimming a little, I can at least admit that it isn't horrible. Just very bad. It's more or less intelligible English, but the dialogue is stilted, the transition between the first scene and the second one 200 years later is cliched (he ends up in a girl's bedroom, destroying any vestiges of suspense as to what that will mean), and frankly Harry is even more pathetic than he was in canon.

    2/5

Having read it, the author at least has a grasp of the english language. But I can't say I enjoyed the story very much. It was contrived and did a whole hell of a lot of telling and not showing.

The best HP/ME crossover I've ever seen. Of course that isn't saying diddly squat.

    I'll give it a 3/5 though.

Easily the best Mass Effect crossover I have ever read.
    Also the only one.

The author flirts with coherency but has some grammar mistakes, tense confusion, and a lot of pronoun confusion.

It's a "lets throw HP into ME" fic without any attempt to do it in a believable way. Lines like this:
    are cringe worthy.

It's still readable as a guilty pleasure, imo.

I was going to write a ME crossover at one point, but I couldn't really find a good way to merge the worlds. And just tossing Harry, whose magic messes with tech into a high-tech world is a bit silly.

If I remember correctly, individual wizards in HP don't mess with technology; it's larger magic-saturated areas like Hogwarts that do that. Addressing the issue of merging the two worlds, there's clearly no way to do it believably without making large changes to canon (or history) such as placing the first contact between humans and aliens sometime during the canon timeline.

Not precisely what I meant about merging the worlds, but yeah. I always thought HP magic was more tech-destroying than that. After all the mere presence of a Dementor will cut out all the electrical lights anywhere nearby.

Dementors have a magical aura, which means that their presence basically exudes magic constantly. So that's why they cause disturbance in electricity.

What you are thinking of is more like the Dresden Files where they are basically a blight on technology by merely being around it.

I could see a few ways of getting Harry into the future (ME's timeframe), as well as creating a decent crossover/fusion, but what would the plot be? Cliche/trope 'joining the Normandy' crew?

    Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3, are about Shepard's journey/story against the Reapers/Collectors.

There isn't that much room for Harry, unless he's a 'party member'.

The writing is a bit shoddy as mentioned above, but aside from that it is pretty decent. As a huge fan of ME, I'll definitely be following this one.

As of now I'd say it deserves a good 3.5/5
