Yeah, Juubi was split into 9 pieces, and Tobi atleast claims that he is hunting the bijuu so he can put those pieces back together. Naruto has 1 piece (Kurama/Kyuubi) on his own. He has in recent chapters received chakra (small pieces) from 2,3,4,5,6 and 7 tails. In the chapter where Naruto fought Kurama for his chakra, Hachibi showed Naruto how to initiate the chakra absorbtion, but Kyuubi stopped it and we saw Kurama absorb a piece of Hachibis tentacle, implying that Kurama got a small piece of 8-tails.

In other words, right now, inside Naruto there exists varying amounts of chakra from all the bijuu except Ichibi/Shukaku. If Naruto could somehow gain that too, then it is quite conceivable that he could somehow merge all the 9 pieces together just like Tobi is planning, and recreate something like Juubi. Obviously Naruto has only small fragments rather than whole bijuu, so the Juubi he would create would be very weak compared to the original. Maybe it would just be Kurama with 10 tails or something. But the fact that Naruto seems to be in the process of gathering chakra from all 9 bijuu has to be significant. Doing what Tobi is also planning on doing and merging them all together is the most obvious result of that. Especially with that stuff from RS in the latest chapter about how the bijuu would all be together once more eventually.

The problem is that Tobi is apparently not there. He exists in some other dimension somehow, thats why he cannot be harmed. I see no reason why Itachis Totsuka sword would do any better than any other technique. The sword would only work, if it hits Tobi, but Tobi is not actually there to be hit, so the sword would just pass through him and do nothing, so long as Tobi is intangible anyway. We do know that in order to actually attack personally, he needs to manifest himself physically, and in that moment he would indeed be vulnerable, not just to Totsuka but to everything. If Itachi was fast enough, he could kill Tobi with anything at that point, even a kunai. Assuming Tobi was not using Izanagi. If he was, then whatever Itachi did would just become an illusion and he would lose automatically.

Yeah, so all of you who whined about the chapters till now...get ready to see some actual Bull Shit. Stuff that you can actually whine about is about to come forth now that Sasuke is on the battlefield. :[

    The only way this could be even somewhat bearable is if Kishi makes Sasuke the villain for the rumored 3rd part of the series. ;-;

Well, I suppose this chapter represents the final build-up to the real action, so at least we can look forward to some good chapters in the following weeks.

This chapter wasn't really bad. It was ... nothing? It could have been skipped in it's entirety, and we wouldn't have missed anything.

I foresee Sasuke fucking up the entirety of the Shinobi Allied Army.

I feel like Shino was trolling. Everyone else is all like "my motivation! I will help Naruto!" And Shino was like "Ima help Naruto with my ninjutsu. Bitches love ninjutsu."

Boring. Seriously, if Kishi wanted a break from Naruto-Tobi fight why not show us how Kages are doing against Madara?

Also, I just can't take Sasuke seriously as a treat right now. Compared to Tobi, Madara or any of immortal Kages he's like nothing, EMS or no.

I'd like to see Sasuke kill some main characters. If only so that it's actually a war where characters die. :p

Yeah, I hope Sasuke kills a bunch of his ex peers and classmates. That would finally solidify his villain status. Plus, a world war without casualties really is pretty lame.

40'000 out of 80'000 sounds like a lot of casualties.

Unfortunately, they are all nameless Shinobi. We need some critical kills of characters we have grown attached to in order to feel some loss and to cement Sasuke as the asshole he desires to be proven as.

That would also make it less likely that Naruto could willingly friendship speech no jutsu and make him see the errors of his way and actually kill the Uchiha already.

Seriously, give us Edo Itachi instead to make up for his brother and everyone is happy.

To paraphrase: "The death of one main character is a tragedy, the death of millions of unnamed fodder is a statistic."

I would fall off my chair if that happened. If Sasuke actually murders a fellow classmate and someone we have come to know, then that would make his inevitable redemption by Naruto via TNJ actually questionable. I don't believe for a second thats going to happen.

Sasuke probably won't kill anyone, except maybe some totally unknown characters we have never seen who suddenly appear for the sole purpose of being killed by Sasuke to make him look all evil. Then Naruto and Sasuke fight, and during the fight Naruto will TNJ Sasuke back to being good, and if Sasuke killed some nameless fodder, they will never be mentioned again. You can pretty much bet that thats how its going to happen.

If that principle applies in real world (which it does, no matter how unfortunate it is), then it most certainly applies when we are told that fictional shinobi fodder (who unlike main characters don't exist even in our minds) died in a fictional world.

I never said that they were important or significant. Just that there casualties. :sherlock:

Chances of Sasuke killing anyone from Konoha are next-to-nill. Critically wounding them, on the other hand...

I would be interesting to see the Rookies meet Sasuke before Naruto and engage him.

You got it wrong. Sasuke will actually angst over the fact that he killed so many people while he was evil, thus redeeming him in our eyes even more.

Or at least in the eyes of the 13-year old fans.

Let's face it, some of Sasuke's old Konoha peers haven't really proven themselves to be significant to the storyline lately. Ino, Kiba, Chouji, Shino, Tenten, Neji... yeah, they're pretty much irrelevant to the real conflict now. Naruto and Sasuke have surpassed them so much it's ridiculous. The only purpose any of them can really serve now is to stir our emotions with their brutal deaths. Shikamaru and Hinata are probably the only two of the original rookies who still offer something worthwhile to the overarching storyline. Shikamaru will end up Naruto's adviser, and Hinata as Naruto's romance interest. Sakura is still important, but god I hope Sasuke shoves a Chidori through her flat chest.

In any case, I'm not able to take this war very seriously so long as all the Konoha shinobi we actually give a damn about walk away relatively unscathed.
