Current favourite. Which explains why Chouji got some random development during the war.

Just be glad that it usually doesn't show in the story. Though now we know why he wasted so much chapters on Ino–Shika–Chō in the war. Well, that and Kishi said that he would date Shikamaru, so he had two reasons. ;)

Okay watched the newest anime episodes. And Minato is a badass mother fucker in combat.

My biggest thing at the moment is this. If flying thunder god is just seals, how the hell doesn't Jiraiya, or Orochimaruo know how to do it; aside from the fact that it wold make Jiraiya a god and unstoppable.

You probably need to know how to channel your chakra as well. Sort of like seeing the hand seals of a jutsu doesn't mean you'll be able to use it.

I am of the opinion that the Hirashin Genma and those other guys used was a bastardized version of the technique.

While Genma DID say that Minato had taught him and his little buddies how to do it, perhaps it takes all 3 of them because Minato was that awesome. I would assume that they'd wanted to pool their chakra for the technique so that they could actually fight afterwards.

...Which brings up the question of how Minato can Hirashin all over a battlefield and still be fresh as a spring daisy afterwards.

Watched the episode, it was amazing.

Minato vs Tobi was ace. The Hiraishin looked awesome with the way Minato twisted in the air to launch a Rasengan twice the size of Naruto's normal one.

I figure it was easier on him because he knew the technique like the back of his hand- didn't he invent it?

Those other three wouldn't be nearly as intimately familiar with Hiraishin, even if Minato did manage to convey some of the aspects of it to them before his demise.

Speaking of, I wonder if trying to pass on the Hiraishin is why he never had the time to finish his own Rasengan?

Along with being a Hokage, Kushina's pregnancy and general ninja life stuff.

Though Kakashi's implied that, as the elemental rasengan requires a clone (or chakra shroud), Minato wouldn't be able to do it anyway. Or at least it would be difficult for him to use it effectively.

Take that with a grain of salt though.

I was under the impression that the technique used seals like the kind on his weapons, or the ones on Naruto. Not hand seals. Minato was a master of not needing hand seals. Everything was about speed. Hirashin and the Rasegan are great examples of this.

The seals that he places are probably only a part of the technique. Not using hand seals doesn't mean that you're not molding chakra.

I figure Minato never put much effort into completing the Rasengan because he simply didn't see it as important. Like someone pointed out, his style was based on speed and Rasengan was perfect for that. Can you imagine Minato simply standing around in the middle of a battle trying to conjure up something like Rasenshuriken? The Hiraishin-Rasengan combo would be more than sufficient (looked amazing on the anime). Maybe if he'd lived longer, he'd have completed the Rasengan and combined it with Hiraishin or whatever...

I think that the reason for Jiraiya not trying to learn Hiraishin is similar. He simply didn't find it suitable to his style since he relied very heavily on his Toad-based techniques. He was already damned quick when he wanted to be and Sage Mode added a further boost to that. Also, the chakra manipulation was probably not something easily learned, even for someone like him.

I'm pretty sure thats not true.

Minato needed seals for all his techniques except Hiraishin and Rasengan, dosen't make him a master.

For all we know Minato wouldnt have had a Rasenshuriken, but a fireball Rasengan or something equally silly. :p

The basics of his fighting style. The two things his entire fighting style revolves around, two very high level techniques are done without hand seals. How many people who we see use basic techniques without hand seals? So yes the term master does apply in my opinion. His style is built for speed, pure mind numbing speed, hand seals slow you own; hence get rid of the damn hand seals.

And on the rasengan, has Minato ever been shown to use an element? He uses Hirashin, and Rasengan, and uses space-time justu for defense, in the rare event he is on defense.

When will they learn? You can't win with the Internet by threatening everyone on it. You want people to come to you? You better give them something good enough for them to want to come on their own.

On the cave where Naruto learns how to control the power of the Kyuubi, there was a design on the walls that resembled a Bijuu like creature with a Bijuudama like design near its mouth. (somewhat resembled a dog like looking creature with six whisker like designs, with swirl like designs, possibly representing fur)

This is quite visible in the anime version. but I do believe that it may be in the manga as well. The thing is, it might be a possible image of what exactly the Juubi will look like/ is, since the image does not really resemble the design of the other nine, as well as the bijuudama like design present. The apparent age of the temple like structure and surrounds also lends to the possibility of it stretching back to the time of the sage, if not the sage himself.

Or it might just be an image of the Nibi, simply mistaken and misinterpreted

I was curious as to what anyone else who as seen this thinks. The appearance of the temple in the anime is Shippuuden episode 245 btw.

"When you have the same eyes as me come and fight me."

Does this mean we might get a Sasuke vs Itach with Itachi actually trying to win?
