Donna was set up as a potential 'mother' of the Doctor Who family, and she was stated to be his best friend at that point.

It is also stated that Amy and Rory are his best friends. Yes Donna was his best friend, but Donna is over and done with. Her brain will literally turn to mush if she remembers anything about the Doctor. I just don't see something like that happening to Amy and Rory.

    Nope.

Pretty sure that failsafe activated to protect her from what could have caused her to remember, before resetting her memories.

Bitch please, it's going to be awesome. IDW has a pretty good history of handling licensed comics (aka movies, television shows, D & D etc...), so I'm looking forward to this.

It's a comicbook and the Who EU is already so muddled that one more crime against god can't ruin it.

Guess what show started its filming today? And we have another HP actor to star in DW.

I also learned that apparently in 2006 Rowling was approached by Davies to write an episode of DW, but she declined, because she was busy writing books. Shame, really. Even if it would turn out to be a weak episode this was a chance to see her doing something else than HP.

Mark Williams has done a lot more than Harry Potter. He's a comedian and actor, he's done tons of stuff over here, so it's not surprising he'd be invited onto the show. Every other British actor seems to have had a cameo at some point.

Really? I wasn't aware of it.

EDIT: First image. No noticeable changes in the Doctor's look. Not even a new hat. They should have give him one in my opinion.

And two more actors - Rupert Graves (recently played Inspector Lestrade in Sherlock on BBC) and David Bradley (another HP actor, but to be fair he also played in Captain America: The First Avenger ;) ).

I think we can count on a reappearance of the stetson, because there's going to be an episode set in the Wild West. And Ben Browder's going to be in it (John Crichton of Farscape).

    Link.

More rumors. This time about Sophia Myle return to the show and more so as a possible companion. For these who don't remember her, she played Reinette in The Girl in the Fireplace, which is in my opinion one of the best episodes of post-2005 Doctor Who. Does it mean that Madame de Pompadour will be back? It's possible if unlikely. I think, if rumors are true, that she will play a new character who looks exactly like Reinette and maybe have some connection to her.

I also think Moffat (who is the author of The Girl in the Fireplace) will use this connection to play her against River in some fashion since Madame in many ways is his proto-River.

I found this a while back power of the daleks
It is a fan film project with all profits going to charity, I won't give anything away except these daleks really do look a lot better than the new ones.

Don't know her. Is she any good?

And I'm guessing the premier will be in the September with mid-finale in October, two months to cool off, the Christmas Special in December and another two month before the rest of the season starts in the March.

Also, rumors about Sophia Myle returning (not to mention confirmed as false addition about her being a new companion) are less and less likely to be true. Shame, because as I said it has a potential.

Dunno. I'd never heard of her until today. I've never been particularly impressed with Emmerdale or Waterloo Road, her biggest hits so far (although in fairness, I haven't watched much of either, or any of Emmerdale in about six years or more). Then again, the only thing I'd seen Matt Smith in prior to Doctor Who was piss poor, so...

On a different note, the Weeping Angels are going to be killing someone in episode 5. For god this time. Probably.

My bets are on it being Amy. Rory's deaths have been done so many times now that he's practically the Doctor MkII (or Captain Jack Harness the Second). The Doctor has the rest of the season to go, and he's already faked his death once. So yeah, Amy dies. Probably not sent back through time either, because that's easy to fix.

    Jihad/Crusader!Weeping Angels? Interesting...

But yeah, I think Amy is the most likely candidate from the regular cast, although it could just be a side character. Given how important the Ponds have been through Moffat's run so far, he might want to save them for the big 50th episodes.
