Huh, the new/upcoming Ultimate Ninja Storm game, Generations, includes an exclusive anime cut scene made by the same studio that does the anime. It shows Madara vs. Hashirama at the Valley of the End. Unfortunately some Korean dude is talking in the background and there are no subs, but the quality is quite good (except for some random bits that seem to be cut out). I only wish it was longer.

Looks like Madara's EMS had the ability to turn back a limited amount of time. Totally hax. This strengthens my belief that Sasuke will soon demonstrate his own Space-Time ability, perhaps slowing down time to counter Naruto's super speed.

Edit: Haha, Madara was getting his ass kicked by a bunch of vines. Vines holding swords. Mokuton for the win.

 

Thanks for the vid Sechrima. What's interesting to me is that here we see Hashirama with a big sealing scroll on his back (Scroll of Seals?), and the way he wrested control of the Kyuubi from Madara was pretty much just like the way Minato did.

So, it seems his friends/distant family from Uzushiogakure taught him some tricks, huh?

Mokuton + fuuinjutsu = no can defend.

The vid was cool, even if it lacked some "epicness" that I would think would be present in such a huge fight. I expect the manga version, if we ever see it, will be a bit bigger.

Also, is it me or has the quality of the anime dropped, just like the quality of the manga drawing? I seem to remember faces, techniques, and overall quality just being higher back in part one.

 

Ah yes. Completely forgot about Mito there for a second. Brain fart.

And yeah, it's pretty average and not very epic, but it is just nice to see how the fight went down even without it being a 2-4 episode anime fight.

I haven't really noticed a decline in quality from part one and two aside from the obvious (lol@Roadrunner Pein), but I would have to go back and watch some of part 1 again to be sure.

 

Some episodes have had a lot higher quality, but others seem average, I think they save the best animations for the best episodes.

 

The anime varies greatly. Some episodes are crap, some are quite fluid and some are quite high quality. There are even times when the quality goes from shit to good within the same episode e.g. the start of the Pain fight.

 

The anime switches out animators every once and a while. I remember back in part one, during the Rock Lee vs Gaara fight, the first half had a great, fluid animation and coloring. Then the next episode came along with the conclusion, and the animation had noticeably dropped in fluidity with heavy lines, poor shading and repeated frames.

 

What I find amusing about that video is how much it makes the First look like an Uchiha, Itachi in particular, while Madara himself doesn't aside from the clothing colors and eyes.

 

Eh, it's a pretty awesome video for what it is (i.e. a short cut scene in a fighting game).

I'm sure if a version was made for the actual anime series, it would be more epic. For instance, I'm fairly certain Madara was capable of producing much more impressive Katon techniques back then, like Great Fire Majestic Annihilation. In this video he only used Great Fireball. I was just happy to see Senju Hashirama using a combination of Mokuton and Fuuinjutsu to take on the strongest Uchiha and the Kyuubi simultaneously, and beat them both.

 

Those are the worst parts, IMO. Having different quality types for a single, multi-episode fight really annoys.

This is what I'd prefer the animation to be consistenly, a scene which comes from filler of all things.

 

Anime episode today was ace. Interogating/mind walking Kisame.

We see a Yagura controlled by Madara/Kisame scene. But if it's Tobi, he has hair which is way longer than his norm. If it's Madara, the excessive banadages mean he still has injuries.

I'm really curious now.

Also, Itachi/Kisame scene was ace. Kisame choose to work with Itachi in the anime, anyways, pretty cool. Itachi is badass-er these days.

 

Can we really trust what the animators put in as an ability that Madara has?

 

Probably no. This wouldn't be the first time when the creators of anime added something that wasn't checked with Kishi.

 

That was the best episode for me personally in a long time. Kisame and Itachi are some motherfuckin' bosses.

 

I found a much better version of that Madara vs. Hashirama fight. Apparently the first video I linked was butchered pretty badly. The absolute best part of the fight was cut out. This one is much more epic, and it's in HD.

The video now shows how the valley waterfall was actually formed. And Mokuton is even more awesome now.

 

This. This is a Shinobi fight. No retarded shit like staying still and and throwing meteors at each other, hurling semi-nukes from your hands/mouth or bursting immortal fire from your eyes.

Why can't more major fights be like that?

 

I like it, but at the same time, I miss when it was supposedly just Madara and Hashirama who made the mess.

 

I like it too. The fight was, as Republic21 said, a shinobi fight. Not a lot of flash, lots of skill, deadly.

I'm consistently baffled at how people can seemingly touch the Kyuubi. Isn't it supposed to be a massive, malevolent chakra construct? Hell, its chakra burns Naruto enough, why not everyone else who touches it?

 

Because the chakra is in the form of flesh and fur as opposed to being raw chakra. I...can't really think of a good way to explain it despite it making sense to me.

On the fight, it felt pretty lacklustre to me. Not so much that it was lacking flash (though I'd expect far more Katon jutsu from Madara) it didn't have the intensity I would expect.

 

Bad translation is bad.

That said, wow. At this rate, Hashirama is about to topple Minato as the resident deceased-badass.
