You think he was still rational?Really?
Someone you considered your best friend just put his forearm in your right chest, obliterating at least half your right lung, and you're still trying to take him home, preferably without injury?
I just read that issue again;that was not a rational response.
The rational response would be to kill him.
    Bloodily.

It would have been mentioned if it was important.Or if someone had gone looking for it.It made sense to check Kushina for it;they were looking for a candidate for jinchuuriki. There was no point in doing the same for Naruto,he already was one.

Both theories are not incompatible.I'm just throwing it out there;personally,I'd say the odds are 50:50 one way or the other.

Kushina was sent to Konoha from Uzushiogakure during the reign of the Sandaime;that implies Uzushiogakure was destroyed around the time of the Third Ninja War.
And no,no bloodlines that I know of,but advanced fuuinjutsu and vitality(Kushina is the only person to survive a bijuu extraction which judging from Tobi's reaction,is extraordinary),longevity and judging from the survivors, special chakra and large chakra reserves.*clunky sentence*

How often would he have seen Kushina injured? And given that he'd have known by the time he took on Team 7 that Kushina was the previous jinchuuriki, don't you think he'd assume any especial vitality she exhibited was from the same?
As for the rest, same point. The only Uzumakis we're sure they had regular extended contact with were jinchuuriki. And they knew they were jinchuuriki.

He's just further underlining that they are descendents of the Sage of the six paths/ senju. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if he whips out another brother.

Basically, the way I see it now.

He heals faster because he is an Uzumaki. Then Kyuubi's chakra gets added to the mix, probably speeding the process up even more. A combination of the two results in being able to heal fist-sized holes in his chest, among other things - instead of, lets say, other Uzumaki who heal fast, but not quite that fast.

    Eh.

If you use that to gauge Narutos rationality, then he has not been rational in the entire manga after Sasuke left. I do agree that Narutos obsession with Sasuke is very unhealthy and foolish. That however was not what I was talking about.

My point was that even though Naruto was channeling Kyuubis chakra, his mind had not yet been overwhelmed by it and he was still capable of actually thinking like a human. Compare that to when he went four tails and was completely consumed by Kyuubi to the point where he happily attacked his allies and friends.

There have been several discussions between "the powers that be" where they worry about the seal weakening and Naruto losing control and so on. It seems improbable that something like this would not have come up.

A valid point. Though you would think that there would be records kept about the Uzumakis before they were wiped out. If they had a "semi"-bloodline that gave them regeneration, then it would have been a very valuable one. It might be worth mentioning that Nagato was unable to heal himself. Ofcourse his injuries were from a rather obscure source.

While the precise connection between the Sage and the Uzumakis has not been established, I atleast got the impression that the Uzumaki are simply an offshoot of Senju.

    So (dunno if this works):

    Code:
                    Sage
                   / \
    Younger Brother Older Brother
            | |
          Senju Uchiha
        / \ |
    More Senju Uzumaki More Uchiha
      | | |
    Tsunade Naruto Sasuke

If this is true, then no additional brother is required. The Uzumaki would be just as much descendants of the Sage as the Senju and Uchiha. And infact recent chapters have implied that Naruto (an Uzumaki) might actually have some even deeper connection to the guy.

As I understand it,it's effect depends on exactly how much Kyuubi chakra Naruto happens to be channeling.Draw on it,and his emotions become more intense.Actually start pulling out tails, and suffer progressive loss of higher brain functions for the duration.

    That's the thing.
The very nature of the seal,as I understand it,is that Kyuubi chakra is bleeding into his system constantly. So you can't actually measure the nature of his chakra in relation to bijuu chakra because it's always contaminated with bijuu chakra.

Nagato's injury was...odd;those didn't seem to be standard blast tags. Then of course he went ahead and had that Gedo Mazou..... thing implanted;I suspect that thing accounts for most of his ill-health;the non healing, the wasting and so forth. There's no way having >10 multi foot long metal rods implanted in your back and transmitting your chakra elsewhere won't fuck you up.
Note that Edo Nagato, without those chakra rod things fking him up,only needed to drain Naruto of chakra to heal up to normal.Normal in this case being you need the two most powerful jinchuuriki and Edo Itachi to beat him.

    Agree with all this.

Dr Snakes ruined this chapter. I just pictured a sassy black doctor who wears snake skin shoes. Sasuke was not as cool as Dr. Snakes.

Dr. Snakes really just doesn't sound like something Itachi would say either. Though I dunno, he's generally had a much more chill attitude since his good guy turn. Kinda shatters the old fanon (canon?) characterization of him being quiet and aloof and generally antisocial.

Then again, he is socially retarded enough to think that mindraping his little brother over and over again was a good idea that would keep him on the right path...

Lol. It wasn't just Dr. Snakes, it was the combo of Dr. Snakes with magareader.net's absolutely lulzy translation. I laughed my way through the whole chapter. In my mind it was like Kabuto was the snake version of Jim Carrey/The Mask shifting sideways saying 'SNAKING' instead of smoken. I mean, c'mon....SNAAAAAKKKKKIIIIINNNNG. :facepalm :awesome

Which is idiotic, IMO. They should have locked up their translators to written contracts for their own online distribution stuff. :sherlock:

This. Or, they could have essentially told Mangastream that they could continue scanlating the stuff, but Viz would be taking a cut of the ad revenue.

Yes, I do believe it is. I'm not very interested in law, but I'm fairly sure that scanlating is a legal gray area, something that's not entirely legal but isn't covered by laws to make it illegal.

    1. Please use capital letters.
    2. The word is "scanlation"
    3. There was no need to link to that page; we all know where to find it and there's currently nothing to see.
    4. The repetition of "so" was unnecessary.
    5. One exclamation point is sufficient to make your point.
    6. I am glad you're enjoying the manga. Perhaps you'd like to elaborate on why you consider recent events to be "awesome"?
    7. Welcome to Dark Lord Potter.

I recently realized that the manga is in the point where Kishi, if he wanted, could solve all plots in about 10 chapters (2 more for Kabuto, let's say 3 for Madara and 5 for Tobi). Of course, I expect few more twist that will make it a little longer, but we are really close to the end now.

    New Naruto is up.

May as well skip a few weeks, however, given the progress in it :\

Yeah, it's just so stale. The bow was a nice touch but other than that...meh.

How old was Sasuke when Itachi betrayed his clan? Around six years old? Because in this flashback he looked much older to me.

Yeah, the bow is cool. I'd like to see Sasuke using a bow in fan fiction sometimes. A bow combined with the Sharingan would be pretty deadly. And even his Susanoo has one, so it seems to be the weapon for which he has the greatest natural affinity, rather than the sword.

Anyway, not much happened. I'd like Kabuto's Sage Mode to be explained in more detail, especially how its mechanics compare with toad Senjutsu.

His Susanoo has a sword too =/

Anyways, bow is a terrible idea. Anything + Sharingan can be considered deadly. Considering how ninjas like throwing around shuriken and kunai, a bow would be pretty obsolete. It just doesn't have enough speed and power. Do you remember Sasuke vs. Itachi shuriken spam? Yeah, good luck using a bow to any effect. Bow might be useful for long range sniping, but since when did Naruto ninjas fight like that? Normal arrows are easy to catch for any decent ninja anyways. Kidoumaru used one, yeah, but his was special, with special, homing arrows. Bow is a traditional samurai weapon, I'm surprised that it got actually used by a ninja, heh.

About the chapter itself, it was decent, I guess. Kabuto is proving to be a threat. And lol, kid Sasuke with a bow and armor? Silly ninjas.
