Damn it, I'm starting to not hate Sasuke. He needs to do something insane and retarded to restore the natural order.

 

The thing is, Sasuke was pissed as all hell because he discovered that Itachi's life was basically ruined by the leaders of Konoha in order to preserve the village's peace. He took it upon himself to get revenge on behalf of Itachi, even though Itachi wouldn't have wanted that. As long as Itachi was dead, Sasuke could go along with his plan and ignore the fact that Itachi wouldn't have wanted him to turn against Konoha. But now Itachi is right there, and still fighting against Konoha's enemies. Basically, I think Itachi's influence will derail Sasuke's psycho trip pretty much completely.

 

Until Itachi leaves. Perhaps throwing in another mindfuck as parting gift. That's what good, big brothers do for their siblings, amirite?

 

It would be cool if Kishi just screwed every fic over though like this and decided Naruto wouldnt be the one to convince Sasuke like most fics do- other half having him stay evil. I think it wouldbe anice and original anyways. But I think Kishi would probably still want to do Naruto vs Sasuke.

 

^That works for me. If Sasuke is redeemed via Itachi and not Naruto.

Of course, what's there so far is pretty poorly written (or that could be the translation not being as good). Japan/manga's obsession with 'bonds', particularly between siblings, does not make a good redemption.

If it did happen, it'd bit of a surprise. But the manga has been building towards another huge Naruto/Sasuke fight since the Valley of the End. Highly doubtful we'd not get it. Maybe Itachi will get Sasuke part of the way there and Naruto finishes the job.

 

This is what I'm thinking too. Which is sort of consistent with how Naruto generally changes people; other people lay the groundwork then he hammers it home.

 

Be ready for a deluge of Archer!Sasuke fics. I'll admit though, the idea IS interesting.

You know how can we get Itachi making Sasuke a good guy and Naruto still fighting him? Make it that Tobi is Sasuke from the present who went back in time in order to stop all the wars. Remember that Tobi is not evil. Tobi is a good boy.

 

I was going to make a comment on how, contrary to what most action movies will tell you, catching arrow in mid-flight is pretty close to impossible. However, we're dealing with magical ninjas, so real-world physics doesn't apply.

Thing is, there's no reason magic ninjas wouldn't have some sort magic ninja bows too. If ninjas can throw shuriken/kunai with superspeed/superstrength, they can shoot arrows that way too.

 

Exactly. And that not counting the things you could actually do with them; chakra strings, explosive tags, random fuuinjutsu crap, elemental chakra flow and wire traps just off the top of my head.

 

I always liked the idea of Hyuuga archers shooting people from several km distance and the like.

 

Except that you can do all that fancy elemental flows and fuuinjutsu tricks with kunais too, and personally, I've always thought that powerful ninjas can throw kunai better than a bow can shoot an arrow - the bow has a physical limit how far you can draw the string, and therefore how fast the arrow shoots, while kunai throwing is solely dependant on the ninja's prowess - and still much faster done. Asuma throwing his wind element enhanced knife was pretty impressive, after all.


...Though those Hyuuga archers make some sense, actually. Assuming that - oh ffs, Naruto + physics = fuck it.

Maybe it was just an adverse reaction to that questionable Naruto fic with kitsune!archer!Naruto.

 

You're focusing too much on Itachi. Sasuke's pissed for the same reason he's always been pissed. He's avenging his entire clan. He just found out that Itachi was a red herring so the focus naturally shifts. The stuff you said about Itachi is true but Itachi ends up being just another Uchiha that was wronged by Konoha's leadership that needs to be avenged. Sasuke knew what Itachi wanted him to do but Itachi's wishes for him didn't trump the need to avenge the rest of his clan.

I saw a guy(calling himself a modern ninja) catching an arrow on myth busters.

 

Should've watched the entire episode; he caught one arrow out of dozens they shot at him, and they were firing at a half-draw for safety reasons.

 

Batman caught an arrow without even looking at it. Just saiyan.

 

He's Batman. The only fair match for Batman is Jackie Chan in a tables, ladders, and chairs factory while Jackie Chan is carrying a baby and doesn't want any trabble.

No one else caught Itachi's genjutsu around page 13/14?

 

And even that depends on how much prep time Batman has.
