I was typing it up and had a family situation come up so sorry that I didnt immediately put real life to the side for a game. I had voted Gaebe before than and made my judgement based on what was being said and all. It was day 1 of my 1st full game on here so to me its whatever right now. I wont be making that an issue from here on out because once finals are done ill be more focused on playing this.

 

Good point, Sesc, can't believe I didn't consider that. It's actually far more likely than some metagaming strategy.

 

Would that make him the King, Queen, or Duke then? Because I was never really clear on whether the additional players discovered they were in the Court before the end of Night 1.

 

If Fen was indeed in the court, that would mean that the Queen or The Duke may be scum or maybe Fen was just targetted because of metagame reasons.

 

If there's meant to be a court kill in N1 they must be added at the start of the night, so he could be any role. It doesn't mean that the queen or duke has to be scum, one of the king's picks could be scum either.

 

Ok, so I've got questions for the new players; LochNess, Aurion, and Aekiel. After looking over the previous days events who do you think is scum, who is giving you a townread, and who would you want to priest check?

First of all, sorry for not voting for anybody yesterday, but I was out for pretty much all of Saturday and when I got home, turns out day had ended early. Secondly, considering how it's incredibly unlikely that there are no scum in the court, I'm thinking that maybe the court decide on having a representative reveal that they're in the court, that way we can be told which of the night kills was done by the court, this way we will be able to get better reads from the information.

Also, the way I see it, the reason why Fen was killed was simply due to the fact that not only have they caused confusion by killing somebody seemingly at random, they've killed somebody who is known to be alright at playing mafia, win/win for them.

 

There was only one night kill, the coven killed Fenraellis. And the town lynched Geabe. There was that error in the code that didn't correctly deal with the court lynch. So they did not kill anyone. https://forums.darklordpotter.net/showpost.php?p=551773&postcount=288

 

That actually makes sense.

 

It's a good idea in theory, but it has several drawbacks (one of which Sesc mentioned, but even if there are an odd number of scum in court, the plan has problems). We don't really need a court reveal at this point.

Waiting on the new players to respond, I want to get some good reads on them.

 

Ah, night ended early. Unfortunate that the bug cost court their kill, but, that's why this is a test game of sorts - to find any possible flaws in the Moscone system (which is pretty awesome in general, I must admit).

The coven killed Fen, then. He was a good player, and will be missed. Logical assumption is that he was selected to the court, and the coven infiltrated as well. Could be the Duke, Queen, or any of the King's selections.

I wouldn't have objected to a spot on the court, but King didn't select me. Understandable, considering the disasters I caused in my last game (as King), but oh well. I'll just do what I can to help town from the outside, and trust that they do well.

First, you mention that there were better targets for the scum to kill. This is bad. Why are you telling the scum anything? And then your response to someone asking you to post more is that... you don't want people to get a read on you? Do you truly have no idea how horrible and scummy that sounds? It's extremely beneficial (if you are town) for people to get a town read on you, as it narrows down the possible scum. And generally, suspicious are 'not' better kept to yourself. You want to post your reads, as more content only helps the town.

Hm. No, that's okay. You and the rest of your particular scumteam don't need to know who is on the court yet. If I had to guess, I'd say Junior Witches. Since, if you were Coven, and Fen was killed due to being on the court, you'd already know.

In retrospect, do as I say, and not as I do, folks. Do not say if you are, or are not on the court. There may very well be a group of scum (or even both!) that do not know who is on the court, and being able to narrow it down is an extreme advantage for them. Don't Court Hunt if you are town. Leave them to their own devices, and focus on analyzing what happens, and making our lynches count.

I derped, though I still stand by the Mishie vote for now, until he convinces me otherwise, or I find an even scummier target.

 

I think Fens death is kind of being over analyzed. Maybe he was court, maybe he wasn't. If the court was infiltrated, they will have to deal with it unfortunately, because we can't do much while we don't know who was on the court. And announcing membership would be stupid. If the court wasn't infiltrated, then Fen was probably just killed semi-randomly.

Mishie does seem pretty scummy right now. That said, I really don't see how his question benefited anyone if the court wasn't infiltrated. It would be too risky too ask the question if you already knew the makeup. But like you said he could be a junior witch and just screwed up.

 

She's not new. Has played in 5 games on DLP, some with similar rules complexity.
