How do I form this mystic cultural bulding? I've given the Hospitalers a place near Estonia because I needed piety REALLY badly (I was like -1000 because I converted to a heresy twice, but luckily I got my ruler killed very quickly and my son was the fucking bomb) and it wouldn't kill me to conquer one of the bigger pre-kingdom of Rus places to give the Teuonic order or the Templars a place so I could get more soldiers.

I also noticed that the Warrior Cult did not stay after I conquered a land and converted it. which sucks.

 

Minor goof on my part; turns out that building is CK2Plus only.

 

That's okay, I run that mod. Do you know the criteria for it to occur?

edit:Also, i'm trying to find a list of Empires I can form in that mod, any hints?

 

Turn on the de jure empire filter and it'll all be displayed nicely. I think it's in the changelog, too.

And yeah, warrior cult are pagan only. They've been nixed completely in CK2Plus, I believe, and replaced with more regular castle improvements in pagan territory.

If you grant land to a Holy Order (or a mercenary group) lead by someone of the same culture as you, it is possible to convince them to swear fealty to you. I've heard, though not confirmed, that it reduces the upkeep you pay if you hire them, and I know for a fact it's a reliable way to get a steady stream of high-marshal vassals. Plus it's awesome.

 

I have the mod downloaded now, any chance you could go through installing it? Installing mods has a history of never ever working for me. -__-

 

Nonsteam:
Download mod
Open mod using WinRar or 7zip
Right click shortcut of Crusader Kings 2, you should get an option in your context menu to go to the file location.
Pick that option.
Drag and drop/Copy Paste the contents of the CK2Plus archive into the Crusader Kings 2 Directory.
Start the game.
You should get an option with checkboxes to select the mod.
Select the mod.
Enjoy!

Is the one where there are added empires CKplus? I can't help but notice I have that mod installed, and have not clicked the "no new empires" option when I load the game up, yet I still have no new empires. As Ireland I owned the land where the Welsh kingdom should be, but it offered me to make the Brythonia kingdom, not Welsh. Then I invaded England, and now I'm picking away at Scottland but when I turn on the de jure empires filter, all there is is HRE and Byzantine...

 

The mod with all the new empires is indeed the CK2plus mod. In case you wanted to play the mod in all its awesomeness, but without the new empires, you can click the "no new empires" and they will stay vanilla

 

Then my download was defunct, I have no new empires. How can I check if the mod is working beside clicking the check box?

Edit: how do you go about assassinating your children? I have a son who is king of Denmark, but he is not my primary heir so he needs to go.

 

I ended up reinstalling the mod as I encountered some problems myself when installing it the first time. Turned out half of the "flags"/ "shields" that all the counties, duchies, kingdoms etc. has was missing and only showed a black colour, like in the picture from the Game of Thrones mod Seratin posted. - So, try reinstalling...

Unpack the files on your desktop and move it into your CK2 root folder. Remember to delete the old "mod" before you replace it with the new one.

*edit; Btw, what version of the game are you using? I use 1.04c and it works fine. Playing with older versions of the game may be the reason why it doesn't work.

On an unrelated note, I've discovered another funny yet disturbing thing the AI's been up to; after spreading some titles around to various family members, they all started intermarrying to try to inherit each other, producing legions of inbred children.

I'm also developing a real fondness for using Elective succession; as long as you have reasonably good relations with your vassals you won't have any trouble getting your preferred heir on the throne, and it gives a bonus to vassal relations and makes succession wars a lot less troublesome.

 

The only way I assassinate now is my wife with plot power. That option isn't available for my children, so while I could cheat (like I did since I got impatient) and reload a save every time it failed or I got caught, it seems like there should be a more.complex way to do it. The only hung that more the standard assassinate chance is parking my spymaster on the providence.

Recently, one of my sons was born a genisu, luckily my heir. His son is a genius which is awesome. But my current ruler seems very assassinate happy, having killed 2 wives already. Before this I hadn't ever killed my wife. But I did notice that my kid is maimed for no apparent reason, which is annoying because of the diplomacy penalty.

Oh yeah, and I stupidly won a crusade for Alexandria and now I'm being jihaded on, which is annoying. Mainly because I'm a northern king (Ireland, England, Brythonia, Denmark, and Finland, though the last one is only a duchy, ill work on that) with just the duchy of Sicily in the South and the duchy of Alexandria in Africa, all of the counties of which are the wrong religion. Beside the skill of my Chaplain, is there anything else I can do to speed uo the conversion?

 

Apart from the skill of Chaplain(min. 13), there are some small speeding factors :

i) if you have any province which has your culture, then concentrate on them because they convert much faster.

ii) give these counties to Vassals, this way they will have their own court chaplain.

These are only factors I could observe because I have played this game for two weeks only, so I am not a master in it...yet.

Last time, I started with Barcelona(catalan) and rather foolishly gave land titles to two of my sons. And the next thing I know, my heir is waging war against me. I had assigned a spymaster to create network in his province for some period of time and then tried to assassinate him(41% chance), obviously against my hopes it failed. Much to my ire, next day I am assassinated.

What I want to know is how did my spy network(which was present from before I gave the heir his province) didn't work and his worked when he shouldn't have any spy network? It was not a random incident because, it has happened with me thrice in the two games I have played.

And my advice don't play with Barcelona or anyone in that region because those f**king hordes of Muslim region just demolish everything. But if you are a master then no one is stopping you.

 

Meh, if you start with Galicia, Leon or Castille you can just assasinate your brothers and inherit the big kingdom. At that point stopping the hordes of muslims isn't as difficult.

Weird thing happening in my game that I've never seen happen before. Spain is entirely halved between France and Galicia with the latter owning most of North Africa and Southern England.

Before I installed the CK2Plus mod, Galicia always got swallowed up very early.

 

Moral authority of the two religions involved (your religion, and the religion you're trying to convert the province away from) is also a pretty big factor, but it's also one of the trickier ones for the player to really control.

 

Do you have to install the mod differently if you're playing it through steam? The game seems to think that it will run the mod, but it has no effect. I've been trying to find somewhere to download the whizmod/CK2+ with no luck, and i've tried reinstalling the file I currently have.

In other news, my current ruler is a retard (not literally, but all stats are under 10 and somehow he has 0 chancellor stat) and so my massive empire keeps rebeling. Im just hoping he lasts long enough for his kid to grow up, who will have much better stats.
