I need to know the Dreamworld abilities and Moody clause too.

 

Dream World abilities will be allowed, but only two or three to a team. However, it's still up for debate.

I've looked over Moody, and I say it's banned. Moody can easily be made into a game breaker and I'm not having that in my tourney.

 

Evasion clause?

 

Evasion Clause will also be in the rules, but I don't see many people using evasive moves anyways.

 

No, do not have dream world abilities - the OU metagame is as closed to balanced as it can be atm.

Introducing the Dream World and stuff like Genesect means that all your pokes have to be revamped and stuff.

And that would make me super super mad, because look @RMT.

Moody is bad. DW abilities are bad, etc. I don't wanna deal with fucking Shadow Tag Chandelures or something. Or LightningRod Zapdos, etc.

 

Lungs, I think a lot of people would prefer having some DW Pokemon on their teams. Besides, I battle you with DW abilities all the time and you still beat me.

I guess we could put it to vote, but DW abilities aren't that troublesome. I'd actually prefer battling a DW team rather than a normal OU team.

(Also, isn't Shadow Tag Chandlure banned or something?)

 

I'll play if the teams qualify as wifi ou. No dreamworld pokemon or abilities. Because shit's gay. And I have no clue about what stuff is. And don't really care enough to look stuff up.

But if you guys want to stay with dream world, that's fine. Just offering to play if a spot is needed and it stays wifi.

I think we should copy smogon on DW abilities. If it's been released (ie: obtainable in game) you can use that DW ability, but otherwise you can't.

The way to check this is to go into PO smogon server and try to find a random battle in the Standard OU (5th Gen) tier. If it let's you do this, your team is fine. If it doesn't let you do it, your team has illegal DW abilitys.

edit: and yeah, that's what wifi ('standard') OU is - just playing with exactly what's obtainable legally in-game, so certain DW abilities are fine.

Okay, then we'll follow Kai's rule. If the DW ability has been released in the game, you can use it. If it hasn't been released, then it's illegal.

 

So when and where would this be happening? Are there any details really set down yet?

 

DLP Pokemon Tournament 2012: Sign Ups

Introduction
For those who don’t go on IRC or the #pokemanz channel, we play Pokemon over the battle simulator Pokemon Online. We build teams, rape other up with them, and then have a nice laugh afterwards. I’ve been itching for a tourney since the last one died a premature death, and since no one is interested in hosting one, I’ll just have to do it myself.

So, if you don’t have Pokemon Online yet, go download the client, make a team, and get the fuck over to #pokemanz. We’ll be gentle.

(lol no we won’t).

The Ladder
We’ll be doing the tourney old-school style. Double elimination! You people have two chances to win. Lose once and you get kicked to the loser’s bracket, where you’ll possibly make your way up again. Lose a second time and you’re out.

Rules
These clauses must be activated for every battle: Sleep, Freeze, Evasion, OHKO, and Wifi. Against my better judgement, you can leave item clause off. If you’re moronic enough to have six leftovers on your team, then you deserve to get raped anyways. Also, battles will be two out of three matches so there’s no stupid hax victories.

For DW abilities, you may only use them if they have been released in the actual game. To tell whether your DW ability is illegal or not, go to the Pokemon Online server and make sure your tier is WIFI OU. If you can’t get in that tier, then you probably have an illegal ability. We’ll be going by Smogon rules. Pokemon labeled Uber are not allowed. The ability Moody is also not allowed, and neither is having Drizzle Politoed on the same team as a Pokemon with Swift Swim.

Since I’m playing as well, all teams will be public and posted within this thread. You don’t need to post your move-sets or anything like that, just your teams. First fifteen people to sign up get a spot and the tournament will begin on April 28th, at 1:00PM PST, the day after my finals are over.

EDIT: If more than fifteen people sign up, I'll probably make the tourney bigger. Also, the item Bright Powder is banned and King's Rock is also banned on Serene Grace Pokemon.

 

I'm still in. My team is Metagross, Gengar, Espeon, Gliscor, Mienshao, and Haxorus. I haven't ever battled competitively so I'm afraid that I don't cover everyone's weaknesses. Oh well.
