I was referring to how they explicitly told Hogwarts students how to make their own basilisk.

 

No it doesn't, it says they are created by hatching a chicken egg beneath a toad, never how to go about doing that. It only mentions it very briefly, and it certainly never goes into explicit details.

Not explicitly telling them how to make a Basilisk.

 

I agree that the process should/could be more complicated that just sticking a toad over a hatching chicken's egg, but I think that it could be interpreted as meaning literally that. It is an ambiguous statement though, and I can see that telling students how to make their own basilisk doesn't make sense (hence my original post).

 

This is DLP, you've got to make your point clear or they rip you and your theories to shreds.
