I've installed it fine, with steam.

The only problem so far is that the second option in some events don't do anything any more.

I don't get it. Sometimes when handing over duchies to vassals they include holdings that are not de jure. Is there a way to circunvent this?

    /Edit
I just realised that my CK2+ was very outdated. I will take the opportunity to create a new game althogether.. Shitload of poor decisions on my current one anyways. Prolly will try to start as a count. I foresee frustation ahead of me.

And I managed to change it to windowed mode so I can use IMs while playing. Took me long enough to figure how to do that - even though it's quite a simple .txt editing. :facepalm

Usually, that comes from some of the counts/barons in that holding having other holdings; only way to prevent that from happening is to to take away any holdings outside the de jure duchy.

Which reminds me, it's been a while since someone posted a link to the latest CK2+ version.

Er. Somehow I missed that hotfix. Is it alright to just overwrite the file it contains and keep playing my game?

What was the bug anyways? I couldn't find a change log or really anything about it...

Taking away as in revoking? Seems to be a sure way to get civil wars

Depends on your Crown Authority and what kind of people are holding it.

And all the other stuff that goes into calculating vassal relations. If you're getting along decently with your vassals, you can afford to have a -20 tyranny penalty for a while.

Another possibility would be to deliberately provoke a vassal into revolting (name them court jester, etc) so you could get a free revocation.

Yeah, unprovoked revocations are a great way to build up your demesne without having to settle for undeveloped wrong-culture heathens in the arse end of nowhere. If you aren't using your long reign bonus to abuse your vassals, you're wasting it.

So, I was about to do some writing on my fanfics, but I decided to play just a little bit of CK2 first. Noticed my king was in his late 60's, so I decided I would just play until he died, then shut the game down and get to work on the next update.

Bastard lived to be 91 years old.

I was an emperor (Britannia), My last king had died recently... Although I managed to get a ton of good traits for vassals opnions. Anyhow, thats not the point.

First off I should mention that despite being the Emperor of Brittania, I also held the Kingdom of Castille, France and Brittany. Along with all the Kingdoms I had to gather to create the Empire. I Also had the King of Navarra as a vassal(pushed his claim after marrying him to my daugher matrineally so I could take the tittle for myself. Sucession laws on Navarra made that move impossible).

With so many kingdoms under my name I had a hard time managing my Crown Laws.
Changing a Law in the empire tab would upset all my vassals. Including those not affected by it, say, French Duchies for exemple. And that would be all fine and dandy except it makes it so much harder to change Laws in the various tittles I hold.

To top it off: I don't quite understand Crown Law 'priority' or some of its inner workings. Changing a Empire law would 'spread' to its De Jure Kingdoms?
Changing a succession law in a Kingdom would 'spread' over to its De Jure duchies (even those my vassal holds)?

This game is fantastic, but it can be very frustrating.

Working on it; past 8k words, so it shouldn't take too long.

Incidentally, my 91 year old king wound up dying in battle, not from old age. This came shortly after he captured Jerusalem in the Crusades, and fathered his 16th child off of nineteen-year-old french princess wife #4. Stubborn refusal to die aside, the guy had a pretty awesome life.

I think, Crown laws only apply within the de jure realm they're set to. Thus if you conquer territory in another de jure kingdom, their crown laws will apply to those holdings. The aspects of crown law that apply specifically to vassals will be based on where the vassals have their capital. It is entirely possible for a vassal to be getting the opinion modifier for high crown authority for example, while most of his holdings are in a kingdom with lower crown authority.

    For succession law :
There are several laws that require a certain crown authority. Even if you're not king or you're not the vassals of the king of your area you will have to comply with this requirement. This means you don't always have control over the situation, making it a lot harder.

And for your last point, I love this game because it is so damn frustrating.

Hey, new fuck up from myself:
I granted a temple and a city to a son of mine(not sure in which order). Now, when I chek the county, and hover the mouse over the city, it says its under the wrong type of holding. Im assuming the bishop wasn't supposed to rule over a city.. Or his capitol simple did no change when I gave him the city. Truble is, I can't seem to be able to revoke the city off him.
The penalty he is getting probably doesnt make that much difference off the taxes I get off him.. But still.

I must say, I had never noticed that vassals could have 'wrong type of holding' too.

I feel kinda bad coming to this thread again and again with my questions. I don't own the game. Paradox forums is off limits for me. I plan on buying it when I have the cash, just can't afford it right now.

After reading that I couldn't type the answer. It's not that I don't understand your problem, for in past, I also went through that. But now that I pay for something, it's kind of hard to help others who have taken easier options.

Anyway somebody would probably see to your query(in game), so don't feel bad and I do hope you would buy the game in near future.

You made me want/need to justify myself now. Seriously, that was a completely unnecessary comment man. And it also reeks of hypocrisy. You hit a sore spot, happy?

Easier options... Buying games off Steam Store is the epitome of easy, thats why its so popular.

You don't need to justify yourself for I am not a self-righteous anti-piracy bloke.
As you are saying buying games off Steam Store is easy, so please help yourself. And yes I am a fucking hypocrite, happy now?

IF you can aford it, yes. Way easier than lurking the webs for piracy.
When you said its 'hard to help others who take easier options' it rubbed me the wrong way. There was no option and certainly not an easier one.

Can we move on now? This shit is pointless.

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried out the ruler customizer DLC yet? Is it worth grabbing?

Haven't tried it personally but the initial response has been positive.

If it's any help : Link.

Seeing that I would guess spending 4,99 USD would not be foolishness.

Also, if you get the patch please feel free to share your views to us poor people.
