Who are the people who, in-canon, say Voldemort, not You-Know-Who or He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named?

Edit: Mainly after whether Lupin does or not, but in general is a help.

Harry and Dumbledore. Later in the series the likes of Hermione and some of the order members start to call him Voldemort. But for most of the series it's must those two.

Well, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows does seem to imply that wizards could learn it.

I’d also point out that Firenze seemed able, or at least willing, to teach wizards centaur astrology in fifth year Divination. He implies that some humans at least can learn it.

I’d say there’s no magical reason humans can’t learn goblin (or indeed centaur magic) but rather, the magic has been created in such a way that it is optimised for their respective races. When goblins worked out goblin magic, they were thinking as goblins. It makes sense that humans, who think as humans, would have a harder time using it. Even with magic which has been created by humans, for humans individuals are better at some areas than others.

I've got a question. There never seem to be any wastebins in the wizarding world. Where does the waste go? Especially in the bathroom, where do women throw hmm...come to think of it, what do women(witches) use for hygiene?

    Firstly :facepalm

Secondly, they are perfectly capable of using magic to get rid of any mess.

For hygiene..some sort of spell is the only answer I can think of..cause chances of witches using muggle equipment is not high.

As for waste, I had stop my brain before it imagines something revolting.

Oh - usually every other week I browse ff.net with a certain list of search terms. And this one popped up in one of my results, I assume while I was looking for "Harry Hermione Ron".

On a vaguely related note, I've always wondered if witches use bras or some sort of charm. I default to bras, just because they're more interesting, and it's not like magical people have used magic to replace other items of clothing, so I don't see why they'd do it for this one piece. But still, I've seen fics where witches use a charm instead of a bra.

And continuing this line of questioning to it's ridiculous conclusion, why is anyone old. We know that there are age potions, why the hell has there been no one vain enough to keep taking them?

If that was the case I am sure SPEW would have started in 1st year.

Anyway now I do feel sorry for Dobby and Kreacher.

After reading the above questions I felt they needed some other thread, something like : Questions that deserve their own thread.

If I were ever to meet JKR, those would be the first questions I would ask.

In a world where anyone can be beautiful (or at least youthful) by taking a potion, is physical beauty really going to be valued as much as it is in the Muggle world?

When anyone can be beautiful if they have either the skill or money to do so, I think peoples' opinions on beauty would change somewhat. Consider Tonks. She can look any way she wants. She doesn't pick a stunning model, but rather a punk look. Why? Because she's secure in the knowledge that she can look good if she wants to, so she doesn't feel the need to. Instead, she chooses an appearance that she thinks is interesting.

Don't mind me, just taking notes.

But that mainly looks at the question from the angle of physical beauty. Another part of old age is the physical frailty. It strikes me that deaging potions would be more useful for restoring vitality? I want to say it's because, culturally, the idea of aging is something wizards are simply comfortable with.

Yeah, I guess that physical frailty is less of an issue but it's just weird that no one wants to look or feel far younger than they are, or get crazy hair or bigger tits or just blonde hair or just alter themselves in general. Especially Muggleborns who should be creaming themselves

If this is the case though, instead of going to the school front gates, and disapparating once they're outside school boundaries, why didn't the DE, Snape and Malfoy just grab a broom, and fly out, after killing Dumbles? What a waste of time really. Surely they know that they can just fly out.
Exactly isn't it? I think Rowling messed up a bit, when she wrote Hogwarts defenses. She kept saying its the safest place in the world. Or maybe its just because Dumbledore's there.

Harry did, and so proudly so. Funny thing is, he kept saying Voldy's name, but when he came face to face with Voldy, he just froze in fright, dropped his wand, and started shitting his pants, then just run as fast as he could to other direction .

While aging potions exist, I'm relatively positive that a 'de-aging' potion (apart from the elixir of life, which maintains youth) is an invention of fanon.
