I think fem!Orochimaru is the hottest Naruto female, and I've always personally enjoyed Orochimaru's appearance in the series.

 

They're essentially doing something where they host the manga for 72 hours after the first time it's uploaded, and then purge it from their servers. This provides us a quality scanlation while hopefully keeping within whatever they agreed upon with Viz that kept them alive.

We'll see if they get shut down in the next couple of months.

(Also, I'm not 100% sure if 72 hours is actually the length of time they keep it up, it might be shorter or longer.)

Ah. But then in Orochimaru's case, it's less "I am invincible!" and in your face about it than him conveying it through his attitudes and actions, while being barely cautious at times (dealing with the Akatsuki) and thinking even that's generous.

It's a level of arrogance that's quite nicely implied, though I get the feeling Howdy will say I'm reading too much into it.

 

Heh, after thinking about wasn't Kabuto brainwashed by Sasori before he was Orochimaru's tool?

 

Sasori could be why Kabuto was found with no memory in the first place. That, or it occured when he infiltrated Suna.

Also, on the subject of Orochimaru and other villains, a lot of heroes and villains are basically the cliche formulae put together in a shiny new frame. Its how good you showcase the character is what matters to me. And truth be told, Orochimaru as a villain is very shiny and fun to read.

If you ask me, that's all that matters.

Meh. Of the various yawn-inducing flashback for minor characters nobody cares about, I enjoyed Kabuto's the most. I guess I find Kabuto one of the better support characters. I particularly like Orochimaru, for various reasons.

So yeah, not a total waste of time, but not particularly enjoyable either.

 

It seems to me to be a flashback focusing on Orochimaru just as much as Kabuto, which despite my distaste for both characters makes it somewhat less annoying.

 

Background info on well estanblished characters (Orochimaru) is something I particularly enjoy.

Oro is being built up;he is much more formidable than his initial showing would suggest.In some ways he's scarier than any other villain we've seen in Naruto.

Hopefully the next issue should be the one where we find out what the hell Izanami is.

I'm not the most well versed in the Naruto timeline, but is anyone else finding all this a bit far-fetched within the restrictions of the timeline as we (or at least I) know it? Also, why didn't Danzou realise who Kabuto was (a dangerous person, needing to be assassinated) while he paraded round as a gennin for over 3 1/2 years?

 

The chapters are a bit boring, but at least Orochimaru and the snakes are being fleshed out in greater detail, which gives fanfiction writers more canon resources with which to write good stories.
