    Stupid question:
Could Voldemort die from an STD?

He did have Harry though, which meant that when he made Nagini into a horcrux he would have had. I know Harry didn't get the whole process but if it's the actual number of pieces that's important then you'd expect him to have gained what ever the additional aid he wanted from having 7.

(just to be clear, I am including Lord Voldemort's body as a soul piece)

Lord Voldemort had been feeling sick, though he would not admit to everyone, he clearly needed help. So he called upon his most trusted Death Eater, in hope that he would get some help. After very lengthy tests through potions and magic, it was time for the result.

"My lord, you are suffering from a disease," said Snape, his voice carrying a hint of an indistinguishable fear.

"Ha, Lord Voldemort suffering from a disease, suffering from a problem faced by mere mortals," said Voldemort smiling, his voice clearly betraying his facial emotions,"You are lucky, Lord Voldemort is feeling charitable today."

"I am certain my lord," replied Snape, this time fear evident in his voice.

"What kind of disease?" asked Voldemort, his red eyes reflecting the fury in his voice.

"STD, My Lo-Lord," replied Snape in low whisper.

"Crucio," ending the curse after a few seconds, Voldemort said, "Don't try your luck Severus, say in clear words what is the problem?"

    "Sexually transmitted Disease," yelled Snape.

    Avada KeDavra

The body of Snape rolled on the floor, devoid of it's life. But, the secret of a pleasurable butt sex remained what it was, a secret.

    Don't be silly now. :p

Anyway the stupid question deserved an equally ridiculous answer.

That was not an equally ridiculous response, you raised the level of ridiculous by several orders of magnitude. And in the process you severely lowered the quality of this thread.

So then if Voldemort got AIDS or Syphilis, he would suffer forever?

Honestly it was a FFn level parody, with use of muggle phrases and ideas due to the writer being an uncreative and imperceptive fuck.

    Assuming he noticed...

    A. He'd transfer the illnesses to someone he didn't like... the Prime Minister or George Michael, whomever

    B. He'd brew up a new body and immolate the other one

    C. ... and then he'd kill Bellatrix for indulging in 'bestiality' with infected muggles.

I'll post this question straight from iRC, and a little clarification:

<Jorm`SCII> Hmmm, one scene in Power of Oa caught my interest, and that was when Harry/Apollo was about to kill Lex, for trying to rape Kara/Supergirl. The lack of emotion/drama in it, however, did make me shake my head. If I wrote a one-shot scene rewrite (following the scene's chain of events, but 'better') based on that scene's premise (like an omake), and posted it in the WBA, would that make me an asshole?

<Jorm`SCII> That's an inspired rewrite - I'm talking about a scene rewrite. Following the chain of events in that scene, but with more drama, like with Harry only standing down when Kara puts her hand on his elbow; he was about to cave in Lex's skull.

<Jorm`SCII> http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4944577/12/Harry_Potter_and_the_power_of_Oa <- See, this is the chapter I would redo <- more drama, etc. I'd like to have seen a moral struggle where Harry's on the verge of killing Lex.
    <Jorm`SCII> With Kara stopping him.

So, yeah - if I essentially rewrote that linked scene and posted in the WBA, quoting the original chapter as the source and providing credit for the original author/story, would that make me an asshole and/or thief?

Why not just ask the author for a permission?

His soul is immortal as it is kind of anchored to earth by his Horcruxes. His body however is mortal, so it could die from an STD - if wizards can be infected at all (Taure would argue: STDs are never mentioned in canon, so wizards are immune to them).

Magical contraception isn't mentioned in canon, they must use muggle solutions.

    Or they just don't bother.

We've seen large families, couples having kids straight out of Hogwarts/their early twenties/late teens, but we've also seen people have kids later in life, such as in their thirties.

I doubt they'd abstinate from sex for all that time. ;)

I think it's been said here before, more or less, but, as much as people like nice pat numbers and 'power levels'... a soul isn't a pizza; a soul isn't a tangible, finite, quantifiable thing, and so if you fracture a soul, you don't get halves... you just get another unquantifiable 'portion'.

Or, at least, I recall the logic going something like that.

EDIT: Ah, I see Damask already touched on this, but I actually am eating pizza right now, and can't be arsed to do something silly like reading posts...

So here's something I've been wondering for a while now:

Is McGonagall a member of the Order of the Phoenix? Or is she just a friend and ally of Dumbledore personally, and a fierce protector of Hogwarts - like Flitwick?

    One the one hand:

    1. She's not mentioned in the picture of the old Order Moody shows Harry.

    2. She's never in Grimmauld place. Even Snape went there occasionally.

    On the other hand:

    1. She met Dumbledore in chapter one of PS.

    2. Harry seemed to think in OotP that if McGonagall had still been in the castle, he could have gone to her about Sirius.

    Say what now?

Did Taure just make a mistake with canon?
