Where did I ever say this? I didn't. In fact, I specifically said that we should continue discussing and see if we can dig up some targets for the Court.

Honestly, I see what you're getting at, but I prefer to not leave things like this open for potential failure. And like you said, there's basically zero difference between doing things today and doing them tomorrow. If we dig up another witch today, then great. But there's no guarantee of that, especially with how the lynches have been going so far. All of the wagons so far have boiled down to "Meh, he's kinda scummy, and what if there's a scum!Judge?" So unless someone has a really strong suspicion, there's no point in switching the lynch target. It would be the same as lynching today, letting the Court kill someone tonight, and going after a new guy tomorrow.

And there's nothing that prevents you from airing suspicions without any desire to lynch. If you think you've picked out another scum, say so and why. Think of it as picking a target for the Court.

EBWOP: Should say "It would be the same as lynching Kalas today[...]" in the last line of hte second paragraph.

We'd have to kill him, because we want the Junior Witches to be in power when Eido uses his ability, assuming he's the Bishop. We've got three days to kill Kalas and find the last witch. Besides, it would be best not to underestimate how much Kalas could do to throw us off the game if we let him live. He's already trolling like hell, but in doing so he is also able to throw us off certain players if we target them.

    Uh, what.

What makes you think we have two dead Elder witches, Aek?

Also, I'm slowly working on a post when I have free time. I really, really wouldn't mind having Moridin dead.

I assume he's using the "no Vig kill yet, therefore two witches have been lynched" idea. 3 problems with that though (which have already been pointed out):

    1. JWs count as "not faction" for a town!Vig

    2. You're assuming town!Vig

    3. You're assuming the Vig is still alive

Or perhaps it was a derp and he KNOWS two witches are dead because they were his scumbuddies...

Now that I think about it, I don't know. I'd started assuming somewhere down the line that we'd gotten two of the Elders and I can't remember why I came to that conclusion. Never mind that plan then, but I still advocate lynching Kalas today, since he'll just take up the focus of tomorrow (should he survive the nightkill) and there's a chance Ashaya will find another witch tonight, giving us another free lynch.

Besides, I'm working under the assumption that the Court has more info than we do and will have much better prospects than us in finding targets to kill. Therefore, we should either get rid of his extra life now, and give the Court the choice on whether to kill him dead or pick someone else to target. This assuming that he's actually telling the truth about the extra life.

---------- Post automerged at 01:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:53 AM ----------

Ah, now I remember some. I think Lungs was Elder scum and the Court knew it (or heavily suspected it), that brings us down to a maximum of three Elder Witches. No vigilante kill implies either scum vigilante or we got at least two of the witch faction in the lynches, and we may have gotten lucky with one of them being an Elder rather than a Junior Witch. So by my way of thinking, we've got at least two Elder Witches. I hope that's the case, at least, because that way we have the chance to win this game outright when the Junior Witches take their place.

Fine, I've had enough of the heavy hinting anyway.

I'm the Vigilante and I'm town. That's how I know we've killed two scum.

jesus this thread is eleven fucking pages :(

Aek, good to hear that from you I guess, I guess I'll take a look at your old posts to see how well you've been hinting and to see if you definitely look town.

Well, while not entirely sure if I believe Aekiel, I do think that this was a perfectly reasonable time to rolereveal. If he is town!Vigilante, this is some valuable information. If not, it doesn't change anything that we are doing for the next day or two. I feel like this is genuine, but I'd like to hear what the rest of you think.

The only way it's not a true claim is if Gravedigger!scum and aekiel!scum is true.
Well, 90%. 8% is gravedigger!town!aekiel giving town useful information and 2% is the leftover scum!aekiel play which is relatively pointless imo.

It could be a fanatic!aekiel seeking a priest check, possibly JW?

    Still. Leaning towards true claim.

Read as: "Would you care for some wine, sir?"

    Nice.

Anyway, the only reason I mentioned it as a possible scum play is because I do believe Aekiel is capable of the play.

    I'm not sure there's much benefit there, except as a turn-around town!confirm after scum-slipping "2 witches dead"?

Even then, the odds of scum!gravedigger combined with lynched!vigilante are pretty slim.

    Well, well, well.

Hm. This is interesting, because there was another person dropping pretty obvious Vig hints! That doesn't necessarily mean they were the Vig, or scum, for that matter - just town attempting to mislead scum.

As to whether or not I believe Aekiel... hm.

    I propose a plan!

Step One: We don't lynch Kalas today. He's confirmed scum, and we generate no vigilante or gravedigger information from his lynch, really.

Step Two: We lynch Moridin (my preference), or someone else.

Step Three: We will know if the Vig triggered at the start of the night, due to how Moscone works! The kill itself won't happen then, but we will know if Moridin (or whoever) activated the Vig.

    Scenarios!

Aekiel Vig: Set your Vig target to Kalas. If it triggers tonight, that means Moridin was town (or that you are Scum!Vig). If you do not kill Kalas with your kill, it means that we lynch you tomorrow! Yay, for your plan failing, and nabbing us another witch in the process. You. If your kill does not trigger upon Moridin's death, it probably means he is scum, and you are town. The court should then kill Kalas. Since I really don't want to deal with his trolly wine another day, and he's given me enough things to work with today. Especially if Moridin is scum too.

Not-Aekiel Vig: Set Aekiel as your Vig target, and reveal tomorrow. This does mean that Kalas will live another day, but oh well! Another witch down in the process.

What this does mean, that if Aekiel is town, but not the Vig, he should reveal his gambit now, heh. Town hunter or gravedigger is possible, and are probably worth revealing as such (if you are those roles). Since you could very well die otherwise.

    Thoughts on the plan?

Also, if Kalas somehow survives the NK, he gets lynched tomorrow. As he wouldn't join the court (as Pauper) until the following night, I'm pretty sure.

This makes it seem like the Pauper would join as soon as possible, so at the start of a night after a lynch, or the start of the day after a NK.

I'm... relatively sure everything is at the start of a night? So it'd be the next night after they survive a NK.

I looked stuff up the last game of WH I was in because I was King. Duke replacement and Pauper joined the court at the start of the next night after death. It could have changed since that ruleset, but I don't have time to look it up right now. I also am pretty sure lynch does 'not' trigger Pauper's use, as the only thing in the game that survives a lynch is the Survivalist.

Where do you see that the Survivalist is the only one that lives through a lynch? The Pauper's description mentions the first attempt to kill them - I'd consider a lynch an attempt to kill, given that it, you know, kills the person who was lynched.

As for when the Pauper joins the Court, IIRC you may actually be right on that one - in the previous WitchHunt, the Duke's replacement joined the Court at the start of night, so it may well work the same way for the Pauper. Ofc, I'd like to get ChocolatePi's confirmation on that front.

And personally I'd prefer to lynch Kalas for the reasons given above, except the Pauper thing which on reflection would work better with a Kalas NK - still, if Aekiel is legit and two witches have been lynched, then better to narrow the Coven down now and minimise the damage from the scenario of Kalas getting into an untainted (by Elder Witches) Court.

    Hm.

The plans look all right on paper, and if all else fails and there's no lynch consensus on anyone else Kalas is always an option.

Going back and reading Day One's posts, I'm really not feeling the Geabe lynch train. And uh, Jwlk's flip from ZOMG LYNCH GEABE on Day One to this is just...guh.

And then saying he thinks Castiel was actual Coven to try and self-correct...just... Lynch: Jwlk. Hang dis nigga higher than Haman.

Also also, using stuff from GOD WH as mechanics justification here is an iffy proposition at best, Mori- the modding was a mess too and we were using an older rule set.

I'm almost certain we've lynched two witches - at a minimum. It's possible we've lynched more, just a little on the unlikely side.

Castiel was like.. 98% a JW at this point.

So one of Lutris/Klackerz/Geabe had to be a witch as well. I'd probably say Klackerz the JW, if I had a gun pointed at my head and was told to name one. But the other two are at least possible!

So I'd much rather lynch not-Kalas today. If the Vig triggers, then we know we've lynched 2 scum and 3 town out of the 5 lynches. If it doesn't, we know we've lynched 3+ scum, which is awesome!

Jwlk is possible. I didn't like anything about that exchange, especially trying to sell Castiel as an elder witch. He's definitely a JW if he's a witch at all, though. I'd rather kill potential Elders, but I'm not... entirely averse to a Jwlk lynch?

Moridin is my first choice, though.

In fact, Lynch: Moridin, just to have a vote out there. Re-reading the thread since Kalas revealed, I just get the vibe that Moridin is sort of in on the Kalas trolling thing. Which seals the deal for me, considering he was already a top 5 scum suspect.
