    Tinn Tam. Song of Trees, when it was only at like chapter five on Schnoogle. I came in, and there was a thread going about flash games (winterbells, orsinal) I obliterated everyone's score, and Fine Balance, or whoever (don't think it was FB, just remember him from IRC) cried and said I had cheated and that my screen caps were poorly shopped.

    He raged, I stayed away for a couple months, joined into IRC immediately after coming back, because I read all the big name fics at the time, and went on to IRC to tell Raven to write moar :3. Haven't looked back since. Up until then, I had seen DLP mentioned in several other reviews, profiles, and so on. Yahoo Group (Caer Azkaban, PP3 maybe, and one other for this crossover fic, somone from DLP was on there trolling and I followed them back).

    So many new fags now, and some cool old people are gone, from my time, and a little before: Spacks (miss you bro) Veri (The artist formerly known as... ) Back when Snarf and his multis weren't so gay, and posted, and that one stupid cunt Walrus that cried his way out of politics with a banhammer in the ass. Pre/post-lovetriangle. Mindless, he's off shootin' commies, and buildin' bombs. and when Coyote was Tragedian(spoiler, trag didn't die :p). Bio's lovehate relationship for IP82, back when he rec'd everything that had a pulse.

    We should make a timeline. Like Ninjavideo did. That was pretty cool. Just compile a mass notable history of DLP :3


    Also, who knows what my original nick was? I've only changed it one time.

    I got drunk one night writing stories and woke up here with a blinding headache, sore ass and a lightning bolt tatt.

    For realsies, I think it was in one of my reviews - perhaps on the Yahoo! group. I found DLP, lurked a bit and didn't quite see the awesome potential or people that were already here. Would've been early '07.

    Came back a year later, after I finished the Hero Trilogy, I think, and signed up under a pseudonym, which didn't last long because I used the joe6991 email. Ended up making an introduction (which actually confirms this story) and promptly got into an e-peen brawl.

    I am not a smart man.

    I share on origin story with many people. That is to say, jbern linked to it on his ffn page and I followed. According to my join date I joined in 2009, which means that I'd just discovered indy fics. At least you elitist fucks refined my tastes before I could divebomb any lower.

    Wow, I remember reading so many alternate 5th Harry Potter books about a year or two before Order of the Phoenix came out in 2003... Crazy to think I've been reading fanfiction for at least 10 years.

    I kept seeing it mentioned in good stories/by good authors. Sometime a couple years ago I was desperately looking for good HP Fanfic (I'd run through nonjon, Big D, Jbern and Shezza).. that I finally remembered that all of them had mentioned this place at least once or twice.

    So I lurked for a year or more, simply reading shit that IP82 posted and resisting the siren song of the WBA forum.

    Finally, I saw someone mention how absofuckinglutely incredible RustyRed's Ectomancer is in a different thread, and I just had to join.

    Since then I've been annoying people and getting my ass chewed, all while slowly improving my writing by spending lots of time watching the process at work in the WBA forum and reading the general knowledge on the site (Still not good enough to post on DLP).

    I was already an asshole when I joined, so I can't claim to have been painted with DLPs colors, but I can say that DLP has refined my asshole side.

    My first forum was some shitty Artemis Fowl thing full of 13 year old fan boys writing angsty shit where Artemis fucks every female around him.

    Then one posted an introduction, got flamed and complained about it to me. So I came over here and checked it out. Lurked for a while. Should probably have lurked longer, if anyone can remember my intro thread back in 09.

    And thats about it. Not very exciting.

    Wanted to find some good Dark Harry Potter fanfiction, so I just typed Dark Harry Potter fanfiction into google and came upon DLP. Lurked for a while and ended up joining for the Funny Pictures Thread, which incidentally, is where most of posts are located at. I made a horrible intro though. Even to this day I can't get over how retarded I was in that introduction thread.

    Found a link somewhere in the fic description. Didn't even check it out. Saw it again at Santi's work (probably). Looked at all the green and hmm'ed figuring I'd look at it later. A few months later, c.j.c pointed out in a private message that forum has additional chapters for Santi's work, and in general is an interesting place.

    Well, it turns out that's true. ;)

    The first time I found DLP was when I started reading English fanfiction. I found the link in the author profile, but I don't remember his name.

    I do, however, remember his fic. I was going through most of the time travel story. In this one, Harry was sent to the founder era where he met the ancestor of Blaise Zabini and captured a "wild" mage to learn how to use wandless magic, met Rowena Ravenclaw and was going to teach her. In the last chapter, he stole a Manor from a "fat bad man" using the Imperius to force the man to make him is heir. The last update was less than a year old if memory serve.

    I even subscribe to the forum, but I didn't remember the name of my account and I probably deleted that email address since that time.
