Thanos, the bearer of the Infinity Gauntlet. It's (The Infinity Gauntlet) how Tony Stark got the shrapnel out of his chest in the comic books, so they'll probably do that in this one as well, considering that it's basically a cross between Earth-1610 (The Ultimate Universe) and Earth-616 (The main continuity). Or at least that's how I view things, considering that Nick Fury is black, and some other things.

 

The movie was awesome. Everything I wanted and more, but after watching the first credits scene I think this was basically a prologue for the next Avengers. Loki barely steps up as a villain in this one because he isn't really that big of a bad ass.

Thanos on the other hand will make the sequel Epic. In. Every. Sense. Of. The. Word.

 

Christ, there was a second after credits scene? I wish I knew that when I left.

I really enjoyed the movie, but man does that put a damper on things.

 

If it makes you feel any better the dialogue was rather... sparse.

 

So you don't know that recently they added black Fury to 616. He's a son of the original Fury, looks like SLJ, lost his eye quickly after his first appearance and his name is obviously Nick Fury Jr. I wish I was joking.

 

I don't really keep up with comics. I wish I could, but there aren't any comic book stores that I'm aware of in a fifteen mile radius. Which sucks.

Also, Nick Fury Jr. All of my what.

 

You must live in the boonies. There's a Wal-Mart and a Meijer (Midwest Wal-Mart competitor) about two miles away from my house. A pretty decent sized city is about fifteen minute's drive away, so yeah.

 

Pro-tip: Move the fuck out of goddamn Mississippi. <-- As if *more* reasons were needed...

 

Watched it, loved it. RDJ and Ruffalo were especially good I think. Didn't miss Norton at all, hell, I really don't think there was anything for him to add here. A lot of people were talking about how Whedon is a good choice because he can juggle a lot of characters, and they were right. I expected the two normals, well three, if you count Cap, to be nuisances at best, but in terms of both action and characterization they were more than interesting.

I liked the interactions too, Stark being an irreverent fuck, Cap being Mr. "Let's Follow Orders" while at the same time trying to do what was right.

That scene with Cap giving orders... was fucking awesome.In the comics I never really bought the idea of a group of the most powerful people on the planet following the orders of an upjumped tv star, but he does have a certain presence I have to admit.

EDIT: Hulk was also much smaller than I expected. Isn't he supposed to change size? I guess he wasn't as angry as he could have been.

 

Awesome movie, for reasons already stated better than I could have put it.

My main complaint is with the jokes. Some were inappropriately placed and disturbed the flow, and some just fell a little flat. But the ones that don't fall into either of those categories were great.

A few far more minor complaints are, for one, that it didn't seem like civilians were put into much danger with the battle. Casualties were implied, but not shown. If there had been one or two vaporized on-screen it would've been far more tense. And for another, a big deal was made about how hard it would be to traverse the worlds without the Bifrost at the end of the Thor movie... and then we see Thor swoop down out of nowhere like that. I'm very appreciative that we at least heard Loki say how Thor was here, but I think we could've benefited by them actually showing that early in the movie somehow. Odin conjuring antimatter sounds awesome. But at the same time, I can see why that might be infeasible (bringing Anthony Hopkins back for just a tiny scene wouldn't be worth the cost).

Another complaint is with the theater I was in, not the movie. No one clapped, but the two little six-year-old shits directly behind me made up for that with their fucking talking.

I have to say that I'm amazed at the cast assembled for this movie. They really went all out. Except for Edward Norton I guess. I felt Ruffalo did very well, but he just doesn't look like Banner to me the same way Edward Norton did.

The Hulk was so awesome. I swear every scene he was in was epic.

We were either at the edge of our seats, or hyperventalating from laughter.

I have never heard a audience react so positively to a movie like mine did to Avengers.

I want to see it again.

 

The douchebag sat behind me was actually playing music through the movie. Whenever it got quiet in a tense moment I could hear the beat in the background... eugh.

 

I thought it was pretty damn awesome. There was some great action and some great humor. The 3D did not detract. All in all, A+, would watch again.

Definitely enjoyed it, I would probably place it second on my list of favorite superhero movies right behind Dark Knight. I can't stop wondering if there was more to "Phase 2" from SHIELD than just the weapons they were researching though.

I did some quick googling on the villain at the very end and he sounds like he'd destoy them even without including his military unless they make him weaker for the movie. Can someone that's familiar with comics comment on whether that's a fair assessment?
