I am getting tired of the weird Germanic names that Monroe calls everything though.

    Nick:"I found this Sword"
    Monroe: "That's an OuNslacKghen"
    Nick: "What does it do?"
Monroe: "Stabs people... sometimes it cuts people."

Not everything has to have a name.

This latest episode was filler. That usually means the next episode or the episode after that will be AWESOME!

    Excited.

Like everyone else has been saying, the normal procedural stuff is pretty dry. Still, the glimpses we're being shown of the wider Vessen (sp?) world are pretty interesting.

I particularly liked the idea that in Europe, Grimms are actually just contract killers hired by powerful Vessen families.

Isn't Grimm based off the fairytales, which were written by two brothers who traveled around Germany?

It was actually based off of Heath Ledger and Matt Damon who, in their spare time away from Hollywood, occasionally saved Germany from evil witch-queens.

    True story.

A show that I expected nothing from, yet has surprised me in more ways than one.

    Grimm is back, baby!

This episode was an awesome start to the season, and I'm loving the mom character a lot. Really realistic portrayal of an old-school Grimm.

At the start of the series he was first cop then the grimm, and now it's more like he's first grimm then the cop. (Does that make sense?)

    Awesome episode there.

It makes perfect sense, and it's been one of the best changes of the show. I hated the initial boy scout characterisation of Nick. He's much improved since then.

    1. Nick is a bit of an idiot this episode. He should have called the cops and told them a version of the story that went down. Female FBI agent called him, he showed up and fought the assassin and killed him. Why did he get called? He doesn't know, investigation happens but little is found to get his ass nailed.
    2. Mama Grimm is a badass.
    3. The opening voice-over is so shit.
    4. Why the hell did the nurse freak? Nick is her boyfriend/fiancee?, he can show up if he feels like it.

    1. If Nick had waited to call the cops he wouldn't have time to go and apply the eyedrop thingy to his girlfriend cause he would at least have to wait until the cops get there to secure the site and possibly he would get questioned, I don't think the feds would see the urgency in his situation. Besides I think he would have planned on doing that after he saw Juliet if only the cops hadn't discovered the crime scene so quickly after all he left his gun there.
    2. So true. Although I hope the next time we here from her she isn't in trouble since I don't believe that's the last we've heard of the coins.
    3. Yeah they should just have left it the way it was in season 1.
    4. I think they draw the line at applying strange medicines to their patients.

I think Hashasheen was talking about the fact that the nurse they met when they first entered Juliet's room freaked out even before they had done anything. The only reason I can think of is that Nick's group looked like they were about to murder someone, especially Monroe.

As everyone else said, Nick's mom was cool.

I do have my doubts about 2 things though. First, they already spent the entire first season shrouding the Captain in mystery. It would get a old fast if they spent the entire second season on it too.

Last, the whole Juliet with amnesia story seems really cheesy so I hope they handle it better than most shows...

Frankly, I hope that they just get rid of her altogether. I find all her interactions with Nick incredibly fake and stilted. She's just an annoying gratuitous character.

You may have issues with the character and that's fair but given the format of the show - Nick being in Portland, he has to have something/someone to ground him there. And frankly, I don't see Munroe becoming that thing. So she's essential.
