Holy shit you guys, the whole Squirrel Girl thing looked like a great joke, then I found out it was true, that's awesome.

Was there any of the actual fight shown against Thanos? Otherwise I'll just take it as a joke in the actual comics. That had to be what the watcher was there for anyway.

No shown fight, obviously. The watcher was there to make that hilarious statement about it being the real Thanos.

That whole 'It was legitimately Thanos' thing has been retcon'd, as all things are in comics.

Yeah, because when Squirrel Girl beat Doctor Doom all of the Doom fans immediately called Doombot on it.

Of course, the Watcher's statement about it being the real Thanos led to a revelation that Thanos can make copies of himself that are good enough to fool the Watcher.

Well seeing as Doom is good enough to be considered for Sorcerer Supreme and is wearing magical Ironman like armor they were right to have been calling Doombot.

In case this is bugging anyone else as much as it was bugging me: the weird-ass alternate Marvel universe the Avengers movies are set in? It doesn't have mutants because Fox owns the rights to X-Men movies.

Actually I like it a lot more than the real Marvel Universe.. just seems a lot more real and believable. It would destroy a lot if there were suddenly hundreds of "super"heroes.
And I hate X-Men (movies and comics) so I am really happy that the chances of them crossing is low.

Extra-dimensional monsters like her don't count, I think there are maybe three people in Marvel whose ass she hasn't beat.

I actually dig it. I'd prefer if Marvel split its franchises across seperate Earths, one for the X-men and various mutants, and another one for regular super-heroes like the Avengers and Spider-man. They're practically seperate corners of the Marvel Universe as is. :sherlock:

I've never really understood why the X-Men and all the other mutants are hated and feared, while the Avengers are tolerated and even admired by these exact same people. So yeah, splitting them would make some sense (though you'd need a massive reboot to do it, considering how tied together everything is by now in Marvel).

Not sure whether to put Spider-Man in the X-Men or Avengers camp though... he's hated and feared like the X-Men, at least most of the time, but he's no mutant. Personally, I like his team-ups with the X-Men better than his Avengers team-ups, so I guess I'd stick him in the X-Men half. The Fantastic Four would probably go with the Avengers, since they're also tolerated/admired despite their superpowers.

I kind of have the same misgivings about lumping Batman in with the rest of DC. Sometimes it just doesn't seem right for him to be banding around with the likes of Superman, fighting aliens and New Gods or whatever. But I think there's an easier fix than splitting him up entirely: just don't make him an active member with the League. Keep him a "part-time" member, and really stick to that.

I think Spiderman would fit in more with the Avengers than the X-Men simply because, fuck half the X-Men. Plus, Spidey and Hulk are bros.

As for the Fantastic Four I think they should have their own universe entirely. Somewhere far far away where they can be forgotten and never brought up again. I hate those cunts.

Except for Alba's Sue Storm. I have thought long and hard about what a lovely cunt that surely is.

There were other people besides her in that movie? I just remember her disappearing and reappearing and a lot of background noise.

Have to agree there; it's probably thanks to the Nolan films that I think so, but Batman really works at his best as a more down-to-earth hero who doesn't run into too many fantastical elements.

Hmm... Jessica Alba, as Sue Storm, or Scarlett Johansson, as Black Widow?

Truly one of the greatest questions of our time.

Come to think of it, that must be a recurring theme. I've seen a bunch of movies with just her, some vague blurs, and white noise. Weird.

    Not really.

No. No No No No No. I'll grant that Johnasson has a great body but compared to Alba, her face is a joke. In fact, I don't think she's nearly as attractive as we're lead to believe. Attractive yes, but not to the level or hype tossed out from the intertubes and TV.

Hell, I was more turned on by Paltrow in her Daisy Dukes than Johansson in her slinky dress or leather outfit. Paltrow is hot and she can act.

On another note, does anyone else harbor hope that Avengers 2 (or some other lead-in movie) will introduce She-Hulk? fap fap fap fap
