That was an extremly boring story. Not at all worth the Almost recommendable thread.

As "lolwut" is an apt description for this story, I think I'll just leave this here.

I've been following this; I actually think it's a pretty good story. It's certainly interesting, and I don't think romance is going to be a focus of the story. Also Voldemort/Harry probably won't happen in this story since they are "brothers".

    I agree (and hope).

There's some cool magic in the story. The romance between Grindewald and the Dumbledore look alike is a pain, but the Harry - Tom interaction is interesting.

I have never read a 'Harry and Tom grow together' story where Harry is written as a true equal to Tom. He always seems to be in the budding Dark Lord's shadow. Any of you found such stories.

You must be really desperate if you start digging through obvious slash hell pits to find a few palatable grains.

It is totally readable up to this point. I admit to skipping few parts, and while the writing is not amazing or especially engaging, the story has some interesting concepts. Some OC's are kind of flat, but both Harry and Tom feel real, with their own flaws.

Honestly, the worst part of the story is where the author is trying to incorporate gay shit. (literally) It is not a major focus of the story so far, but it would have been much better if it was just left unmentioned.

Eh, it's a good parody, but the set-up took too long, and it killed the 'punchline' at the end.

Been reading Twist of Fate, but by god the opening chapters are dull. The OCs are not interesting at all, and it's getting boring reading about how they feel about Tom and Harry. How about showing us Tom and Harry's behaviour, rather than just telling us about it second hand. The Grindelwald sections are boring as well: not only does it irritate me that the author is signposting the antagonist's plans so obviously (why not just have things start happening around Harry and Tom, and the reader be as in the dark as our protagonists?), the "Dark Lord" characterisation of Grindelwald is disappointing. Chuckling at the pain of others, etc. I'm waiting for an "Oh, and Wormtail? Crucio!". I wouldn't be surprised if he has a throne and everything.

I really want to get through to the Hogwarts part, because of what The Infidel said about Harry and Tom being equals for once, but it's hard to get there. Not just for the above reasons, but also because of the current Harry/Tom interactions. Not only is Tom very dominant, but Harry's behaviour doesn't seem natural. The natural reaction to Tom killing the rabbit that he loved doesn't seem to me to be acceptance.

I think the fact that there is a rabbit that he loves is proof enough that his behavior is unnatural, regardless of his response to its death. Then again, I'm not really a pet person nor do I generally agree with the introduction of animals to fics outside of some of the more interesting familiars.

Tom is the dominant kid. Am hoping that will change. In the latest chapter, Harry is showing signs of growing a backbone. I'm hoping for more of that. He still acts like a kid starved of affection and attention. But as he is one, it's acceptable for now. Given the direction of the story, there should be improvement as they grow up.

So...this is going to turn into Harry's anus being Tom's penis recepticle, right?

Because that's what I think when I see the phrases "Dominant Tom" and "Sub' Harry".

And now I want the brain-bleach.

Fuck you all for making me think that. :facepalm

Just wanted to get this off my chest. Not sure if anyone feels the same way but it annoys me to no end when an author says the story will be both slash and het in a summary.

I don't particularly enjoy slash so I always wonder if the main pairing will be slash and am almost always disappointed to read a story and get to the middle only to find that the main pairing is indeed slash.
