Haven't been able to log in for an hour

 

Speaking of problems logging in, I hung out with my friend yesterday, and the entire time he was over he was having trouble with staying logged in.

Hasn't Diablo been having server problems the entire time it's been out, now? It's been nearly two weeks, you'd think they'd have fixed it by now.

 

Servers have been pretty great for me, doesn't mean problems can't happen.

Was your friend playing a Whirlwind barbarian by chance?

 

Hey all, server was down and was looking for a good read. found this thread instead.

I'm a inferno wiz. Not a very good one since i refuse to do act 2. And went straight to act 3.

I've been farming act 1 or farming infernal cow level chests. The elites are no fun at all.

Just thought i'd say hi.

 

That reminds me. Who wants to go item hunting for Pony level materials once servers are up?

I'm still trying to get the gibbering gemstone and Plans.

 

The tip said there was no cow level.... I'm confused. Pony level?

Edit: Did the research after this post. Sounds interesting, but I think I need to hit 60 first.

Anyone have an upper 30 low 40 DH bow for sale?

Pony level doesn't really seem worth the investment to me. It's like 2 million to make.
I've farmed out the first staff, cost me 150k.
To craft nightmare version, 200k.
To craft hell version, 500k
To craft inferno version, 1million.

Yes, you could make your money back by farming. Yes, you could make your money back by selling portal openings.

Or you could just farm act3/4 on your own since you pretty much need to be able to do that to farm ponies anyway.

I got a 800 dps 1 hand from pony which is on auction, and a 800 bow. Which i sold for 200k.

As far as pony is concerned it's monster choice i suppose.

 

Just finished my pony mats tonight, got gemstone on my first run through normal, wasn't really paying attention, farmed everything else tonight, took maybe an hour. Currently playing through Hell with friends so, getting the Hell level will take a while as we're nearing the end of Act 2 currently but, can't wait for it.

 

Pony level is supposed to give gear at the equivalent of Act 4.5, so to speak. Don't know about Inferno, but that's how it is for the other acts. Good place to gear up before trying out Inferno Act 1.

 

Pony Inferno doesn't give any better loot than Act 4, and Act 3 gives the same loot as act 4 from everything I've heard. Wiki has their item level drops identical as well.
Paying 750k to farm hell ponies for inferno starter gear is kinda silly considering how much act1/2 inferno gear is available for 20-50k a piece on the AH. And believe me, it's not like this stuff sells quickly. I have a stash full f inferno starter gear (guarantee it's better than what you find in hell ponies considering its act2) that doesn't sell quickly.

Paying 1.75million for inferno ponies seems way over the top, considering that you could get a 1100DPS bow to farm with for that much.


WOOOOOOO! Got Immortal King's Forge (Set piece Gloves!)!!! First legendary drop at 60!

 

I found my first legendary today, it was some dex belt. Got it off a diablo run from Uriel (Evan?), so I figured he could use it til he found an upgrade (it was like min level 41 or something, he's 60 so...) then he said he'd give it back. I couldn't use it yet anyway, lol. I had just commented to him how bad my lewtz luck was too.

 

Once I finish making the Pony Staff and get it to Hell level, who wants to take it for a spin?

My Next project to 60 is now going to be Atk Spd Witch Doctor. I shall spam Toads and Darts all day long.

 

I wholeheartedly approve of toad spamming. Especially giant exploding toad spamming.

My Demon Hunter looks fucking amazing

...in magic find gear. That's the Three Hundredth Spear, 21% MF on mine and I picked it up for only 250k. I'm hoping to find another for a similar price to give to kormac.
It really makes me wish I could play a Javazon in this game.

 

I wish I could play my meteorb sorc, Crunchy. Then I could teleport and not land in front of random bits of invisible terrain all the time.

Still can't beat Belial. It's really starting to annoy me.

 

Stupid question incoming - I too play a DH and was wondering how melee weapons work? I've yet to try using one on my DH because, well, it makes no sense to use melee weapons on a ranged class - SO, how does it work exactly..?

Is it similiar to Wizrads & Witch Doctors where the weapon DPS adds to your spells or...? Colour me confused =\.

 

You can't cast any spells remotely involving arrows. Some are obvious, no multishot or hungering arrow. Some are less obvious, because you also can't fire nether tentacles (which are nothing like arrows) or rain of vegeance shadow beast variants which are also nothing like arrows.
You can cast traps and most discipline spells, drop sentry turrets, use grenades, throw impales, use fan of knives, etc.
If you could use cluster arrow you could even find a nice useful 1h+shield spec that could work, but really there is no decent hatred spender except for spiketrap. If you find a useful 1hander with high DPS and crit damage+socket, you could make a useful spiketrap build I guess.
