Hmm... well it says it's a CPU game. I hadn't heard of it before this. It has like a choose your own adventure type of thing going on for it?

I'm doing a bit of reading on it. Seems interesting enough.

 

Calling it game is a bit much imo, it's a Visual Novel with multiple routes. It's also got anime based on it as well.

 

Is the anime worth a watch?

 

Never watched it myself, but some who read/played they VN's seem to dislike it a lot.

 

Fate/Stay Night (series) - 24 ep anime follows the first route, Fate, with a few bits and pieces from the other 2 routes. It's enjoyable. I watched it without having read the VN first. It does skim over a lot of detail, but then, most adaptions do. The Fate route is pretty dull though, so the anime ends up being hurt from that.

Unlimited Blade Works (movie) - follows the second route, which is way more interesting than Fate. Since it's a movie, it's rather rushed and crammed, and you probably need to read the VN to really understand the specifics. The movie focuses more on the major fight scenes really. Nonethless, I fucking loved UBW movie with no VN backing (seems I'm one of the few though). You really need to watch FSN or read the VN though to understand even remotely what the hell is going on.

Fate Zero (series) - is a currently airing 26 episode series that is based on light novels, and is a prequel to FSN. It's set 10 years below and in my opinion, is the best of the three. Most people agree that it's a pretty decent adaption, as far as adaptions go, and the storyline is epic to start with. You can watch this standalone without watching the others.

I've been recommending Fate Zero to a lot of people who generally don't watch much anime, and they've been loving it.

NGE was awesome but I don't want to watch the remakes until they are all out, Bleach and Naruto have become very meh, One Piece is decent, and I've watched a few other anime series that were decent.

So I am hopeful that these are good. Probably going to start with Unlimited Blade Works as it seems to be up my alley.

I'm quite glad I found this fic. The writing is good and as far as I can tell it has no mistakes.
The story focuses on Naruto who has super regeneration, and becomes a shinobi about half a year early. It doesn't sound anything like anything special, but try it, it's pretty good.

Apparently the whole story was published in a month so hopefully the author has a quick update rate.

 

Well, as I pointed out, the UBW movie assumes you've seen the FSN series, and so skips through a lot of stuff. It won't make sense if you start with it alone.

 

Yah, what he said. I can think of at least two big things which will probably confuse the fuck out of you, because they're not explained or even mentioned at all. Other than that the UBW is quite good though, even with CG dolphins and whales.

It's really hard to find readable multi-chapter Fairy Tail story under any character list. This is the best one I've read so far. Natsu is this wandering mage that is missing an arm, mute, and has chucks of flesh missing. Naturally, he's not the Idiot Hero that Natsu is in canon, but his personality isn't so overhauled that he is an OC with same name. Just more world-weary and smarter.

Yeah, I know the injuries (especially the muteness) sounds like the start of some emo-laden fiction, but it's not treated as such, but rather the incident creating the scars is plot point that he keeps hidden from everyone (and from the readers as well). My main gripe is that the authors (it's a collaboration) refer to polls to readers for plot points too much. I can't stand it when authors do that. And the writing structure-wise, particularly at the beginning, is a bit sketchy.

I give it a solid 3.5-4/5.

 

Does anyone knows any readable Terra nova fic? I looked around but all of them has trashy romance as their main plot so I have given up hope for good fics but I am curious if there is any readable.

Edit: Xover is okey too.

 

I will read this later on tonight, however one thing that jumped out at me is when I read the description I pictured the HP fanfiction Emperor.

 

Emperor of Zero

I can't remember if this has been posted before or not, but it's a Familiar of Zero fic where Louise summons up Napoleon right as he lost his first conquest. He proceeds to be a boss and he fully intends on finishing what he started by conquering Halkegenia. Pretty good.

 

Worth Dying For is surprisingly good. It's quite refreshing and unique.

And only thing keeping it from being in the library is it's present word count IMO.

Edit: The writer also wrote Failing Twilight, pretty good piece in itself.

 

Been reading that as well. It's pretty fun and one of the better non crossover ZnT fics.

Another one that is a bit cheesier, but similar (and to be honest, one I enjoyed more) is:

Drifter Series: Revolution and Freedom Japanese-American US Army Ranger Alex Tsougi always considered himself a normal military grunt. That is until he teleports through a magic portal into the world of Zero no tsukaima. WARNING:the following story gets really epic by ch3. Complete! It's a bit of a "OC character comes in and wins" type story, but it's fairly well written and has a good plot.

The main character isn't summoned by Louise, instead waking up in Albion. From there he starts a democratic revolution, using all his modern military strategy.

If you liked Emperor of Zero, this is quite similar.

 

Holes In Orange And Blue (F/sn x Portal crossover)

Yeah...can't say I've ever seen this cross before, I checked it out for the novelty but it's actually pretty well put together. There isn't much, maybe a dozen snippets, and it seems to be abandoned, but it's an interesting take on a rather unconventional crossover.

It's worth noting the snippets aren't necessarily in order, but you get a more or less structured story by the end.
