True. Between the New Gods, the Monitors, the Guardians of the Universe, Imperiex and a few others, the DC Universe is quite clustered with universe-enders.

 

I've been researching some of the New 52, as I don't follow all the titles. I think with the plotline I have in mind, Kara Zor-L/Karen Starr/Power Girl would be a closer match to Harry than the mainstream Kara/Supergirl.

In Worlds' Finest #1 & 2 we're introduced to Earth 2's Kara Zor-L and Helena Wayne (Power Girl and Huntress respectively)

They, along with a boatload of other heroes were in a battle with Darkseid, and those two got booted to the main New 52 universe via portal. It's five years later (current timeline of New 52 universe).

Karen Starr started up a company in order to make enough money to build the tech to get her and Helena back to Earth 2 and Huntress is off fighting mobsters in Italy.

Up until that point Karen hasn't publicly used her powers.

So here we have a girl out of her home universe and also Harry who is brought to this universe by Death to act as her knight. She still has all the issues regular Kara has and the 'lost in another universe' aspect as well.

On the plus side Power Girl is sluttier has bigger boobs. :awesome

That depends. Like I said there are rules that even Endless can't break. Harry may have Death at beck and call, but it doesn't mean she can do everything he ask for, because of these rules.

That also reminds that in my old fic (cross between HP/DF/Sandman), I didn't have a scene where they meet, even though he is sort of her Knight in it. Maybe I should revisit it one day.

I just hope you will have her use the old costume. It's vastly superior to the new one, not only because it does have a boob window.

I also preferred her friendship with Terra over Huntress and she doesn't even exist in new DCU.

 

The old costume is a must. I don't see what the big deal is about the anger over the boob window existing. Girls have these things called breasts. Nine times out of ten, if a girl has big and nice looking breasts, she shows them off. Then the girls with virtually nothing get all offended and say it's exploitation. Of course it is. Girls with big breasts like exploiting them! (for the most part). Power Girl is proud of her body and she's got reason to be.

Fucking flat-chested feminist nazis need to shut the fuck up. I want my Power Girl costume back! The new one is just... no.

As for Terra, yeah... I'm kind of disappointed they never hooked up. If DC was going to introduce a homosexual character, that one would have been totally believable instead of the randomness of Alan Scott (WTF?).

 

What if uniting the Hollows and becoming Master of Death told every power that they were now "awakened"? So harry would be forced to deal with new villains after him and his family's legacy.
All these xover talkabout him going to their world, what if they came to his world?

 

I've always thought that 'Karan' was a bit ridiculous in the chest; I know she's supposed to be Kara a few years down the line (biologically), but IMHO Kara's current breast size is perfect for a woman of her body-type.

Karan's just look like two inflated basketballs.

Hmm, you think it would be possible to pull off an anti-hero/vigilante Harry, a lonely angel, without it descending into Emo territory?

Well, I like both Supergirl & Power Girl, but to stay on topic:
Power Girl as shown in World's Finest and Mister Terrific has her portrayed as somewhat amoral and more concerned with making it back to Earth 2 than local heroics. So that right there is an area of potential tension between the two. Harry trying to keep her safe versus Power Girl trying to take risks to make it back home. Then you'd throw in

@Celestin: She's in Ravagers and was in the Culling event between Teen Titans & Super Boy.

And on topic of Powergirl/Terra, I'm also a firm shipper. It made a hell of a lot more sense than Alan Scott, and probably would have made a good chunk of her fanbase happy if they referenced Terra. But considering they showed her having sex with Mister Terrific-

I was going to say it'd portray her in a bad light, and would have a bit of backlash, but it would kinda fit with the desperate/single-minded attitude & focus she'd been given in World's Finest about getting home.

 

I was talking about newer Terra also called Atlee. After googling how she looks it seems to me that the one from new DCU is revamped version of the original one.

 

Oh. Thought it was the new one. But I didn't pick up Ravagers.

 

I don't think I've ever heard anything about them being the same person. If anything it's more like sisters, biologically than anything else. In the reboot, Karen is only nineteen and Kara is a little younger than that. So they're pretty much the same age.

Pulling off vigilante!Harry without being emo? Easily done. I'm timing this five years beyond Deathly Hallows, so Harry will have the experience needed without having to do a lot of tired training/info dump scenes. You'll learn what he does and how he does it as the story progresses and he explains himself to people.

This is what I'm counting on to make things more interesting.

This I'm going to dump as going AU from the DCU. I want her to be a loner for the most part with most of her attention on getting back instead of the world around her. She's not going to be Power Girl right away.

In Earth 2 she was actually Supergirl and now that slot has been filled by this universe's Supergirl. There's got to be either a Kal or Kara meet-up at sometime during this (I haven't outlined it that far as of yet) so better explanations should be had when/if that happens.

Once the bad guy is introduced, it should be obvious (if it's not already) where I'm going with the fic. It's going to be a simple story. I'm not going to be writing an epic tale of epic proportions... epically. I'm just going to have fun with it.

Ugh. Mr. Terrific. There's a reason that comic is being canceled on issue #6. It sucks and he sucks. Terra was well-loved by all.

 

He serves a purpose. That purpose is Mission Control/Extra Body for Big Fits/Straight Laced Supporting Character.

 

Isn't Your Clash of the titans story also set five years after DH?

 

That story is pretty much dead. Real life interfered for too long and it never really got off the ground.

 

We've all got our respective DC/HP projects either underway or in the planning stages, (specifically, I'm revising my plot-line for some of the Power of Oa omakes I'm writing, at the moment), but what about a joint collab' project, too?

I'm currently in one with Jeram, Lungs, OllieK, and a few others, but it's (the group) been awfully quiet, lately.
